Ok here's why /makingit/ is so important.

I've had about 10 different jobs in my life in almost every sector. I've worked 15 hour days, laboured, worked in retail, basically everything.

I watched an episode on the joe rogan podcast when a guest mentioned the concept of a shit job. Basically, you work in a company so big, you don't end up doing jack shit all day, and get paid. The caveat obviously is that you never can climb up or make more money, but you essentially get to be a work neet.

So I spent 6 months looking, and finally found a job that might fit, It was 55k a year (med wage where I live) 100% remote, and 35 hours a week. Also, I got to pick my hours literally 24/7 and could work whenever I wanted.

First few months where great, I just came off being a security guard, and spending 12 hours a day standing in the rain. Now I get to be comfy in my house and work 3.5 days a week.

Well slowly I started to feel the same as all my other much shittier jobs. Even though I was mostly free, I still had to spend 35 hrs a week glued to my screen, and I fking hated it.

That's when I realised. It's not the work. It's not the money. It's the fact that your a slave. That for that portion of time, you can't do what you want. Especially now with all this printing, it's only going to get worse.

We humans weren't made to be caged to an office, or building site or whatever to work like slave dogs till we die. It's not fulfilling, and eventually just turns you into an empty shadow of yourself.

Whatever it takes bros escape the machine. I don't want to sound like some philosophical retard but I have been a wagie since 13 and I have been working almost non stop for 10 years. You can't beat the system, now matter how comfy your job, not taking part is the only way.

The benefit of working in medical field is that I get gratification from being able to help other people and from seeing the progress they are making. Each case is completely different and each individual hastheir own needs which makes the days a lot less monotonous. It's also really rewarding to have one of your patients personally thanking you for all the help you've given them.

I unironically like minimum wage service jobs the best. If I made it I would go work at a McDonald's or a grocery store. The value you provide is tangible, you stock products and help customers find things, make sure they can get the food and supplies they need. The parts that I dont like are when customers feel entitled to treat you like shit not just politely, and when customers dont pick up after themselves. Other than that those jobs are unironically the best jobs to have, you get constant socialization which is good for you, lots of physical exercise, you get a change of pace, and your workload correlates pretty heavily with how many people directly need help. Of course not being able to set your own hours is the worst part, but I think overall service jobs are great. Low stress and they can honestly be fun sometimes. If I made 8 figures I would actually work at a store.

I'd still take that over some of the jobs I've had in the past. As for never promoting because you're doing nothing, change jobs every once in a while for artificial "raises", that's how you'd combat inflation in a situation like that. Also, a job like that lets you save more aggressively since not having a commute or needing to get dressed for work saves money, letting you have a lot more spare change for shitcoins, so if you're smart you can retire very early
