i was worried about investing before i ever started. something that helped me was realizing that you aren't necessarily spending the money you invest unless the asset literally goes to zero; then the money is gone. if you buy and the asset begins to move in the wrong direction, you still have most of your money. the price may even go up. internalizing the fact that you won't lose everything just because the price goes down a little bit helps tremendously.

This is exactly how it went for me.
I thought about investing for years and years - I first heard of bitcoin in 2010, but the GFC in 2008 scared me off investing. What that anon described about internalising the negative experience of investing is exactly what I did eventually.
I finally took the plunge in November 2020 but wish I had started earlier - already x2 my crypto investments however.
