IOTA is not only being adopted by industry. But they are the regulated DLT in EU, and China is also catching up.

One big benefit is using private (permissioned) tangle, as one option. Where you can later connect to permissioned tangle (mainnet) if necessary.

Quant is working with Intel, MIT, etc, on ODAP which is effectively the TCP/IP of the next ARPANET (internet 2.0) for digital assets, also allowing it to connect to today's internet and legacy systems, in form creating the internet of trust and virtually solving the blockchain trilemma, all in form of interoperability. IOTA, if it suceeds, will be a subset of the internet of trust, enabled by Quant.
