>bought 1 BTC in 2016 (bitcoin A)
>bought 1 BTC in 2017 (bitcoin B)
>bought 1 BTC in 2019 (bitcoin C)
>make +1 billion trades selling very, very small amounts of Sats on various days
>each of these transactions has to be tied to 1 of my specific bitcoin purchases
>The 2016/2017 transactions are subject to long term capital gains tax
>The 2019 transactions are subject to short term capital gains tax
>"On April 3rd, 2020 at 2:37pm I sold 0.000025 of BTC A, 0.002 of BTC B, and 0.000252892 of Bitcoin C. Then at 2:38pm, I sold 0.00023585 BTC A, 0.000252 BTC B, and 0.0002582 of BTC C. Then at 2:39pm, I sold....."
>repeat this over 1 billion times
>could further complicate it by rebuying BTC forcing them to have to recalculate billions of micro BTC purchases/sales and confirm the exact price of BTC at over 1 billion exact date points (2:23pm and 27 seconds, 2:23pm and 28 seconds, 2:23pm and 29 seconds, etc be sure to check the price at EACH of those times IRS!!!)

Does the IRS have a quantum computer to confirm that BTC was indeed the exact price that I noted in my spreadsheet in all 1 billion transactions?

They won't audit your figures, they'll reject your submission, decide you owe X where X is a number they pulled out of their ass, take you to court, cause you years of stress and problems, then offer to drop the case if you plead and pay them back 80% of X and have a criminal record

Bro, they're just going to tax you as much as they can. They're the IRS, they don't have to prove anything.

You're in charge of calculating this shit, not them. If they think you're bullshitting and audit you and you can't provide compelling evidence, they're just gonna pull a number out of their ass and force you to pay it as this Anon said >>25970288

They got McAfee. If you think you're getting away, guess again. Just pay your taxes and be done with it.

But what if these transactions are 100% legit. Bots for example trade like this all the time.

Nobody is saying the transactions are the problem. It's the tracking of these transactions that is YOUR responsibility. If you can't provide this, they'll tax you however much they want.
