I have a question to PAN MAN on how ore amounts are published in drilling reports:

I'm following FCC playing on the green tech and EV future and was wondering if my estimates are right:
Their Idaho mine is indicated at 12.3M lb plus 12.7M lb inferred cobalt in the ground. Does that mean it's approx 400M + 420M USD worth of cobalt over the lifetime of the mine?

How does ore amounts normally correlate with market cap? Is there such a link, or is that more dependent on the cost at which they can dig it out?

The recent increase in the price of food and commodities corresponds to the parabolic money-printing which is now going on. "Have a look at US M1, the quantity of narrow money in the American economy. The progression of annualised monetary inflation from under 6% before the Lehman crisis, to 9.6% subsequently until March this year, and 65% in the thirty weeks since is clear from the chart." Observe that 9.6% monetary inflation per annum corresponds with the price inflation which ShadowStats and the Chapwood Index have been finding for the past ten years (about 10%, which the people in that video deny), and that the recent 60% corresponds with what we are seeing in the prices of food and commodities at the moment.

The idea that "deflation is the problem, not inflation" is an old banker meme. They were telling it even when gold was $300 an ounce (see article). This is because hyperinflation is a psychological phenomenon, and the bankers want to keep their con going for as long as they can. The money supply soared 400% during WW1 in Germany, but there was no price inflation because people were so preoccupied with the war.

>Their Idaho mine is indicated at 12.3M lb plus 12.7M lb inferred cobalt in the ground. Does that mean it's approx 400M + 420M USD worth of cobalt over the lifetime of the mine?
I'm assuming you've calculated the price of cobalt correctly here. This mineral resource estimate is fairly early since Indicated and Inferred aren't very accurate estimates (though we can assume most of the ore is there -- they will no doubt drill more and develop the mineral resource estimate in the future). Your calculation only takes into account the "in situ" value of the ore in the ground. The actual net present value of the future mine will be lower because there is a lot of development that must be done at the asset before mining can begin, and there will be many expenditures throughout the life of the mine + taxes. But as long as there is no economic assessment or feasibility study done it's difficult to estimate the net present value of the project, so the in situ value is a fairly good metric to use here.

>How does ore amounts normally correlate with market cap? Is there such a link, or is that more dependent on the cost at which they can dig it out?
Yeah it depends on the costs and the ultimate net present value, what matters is how much money is left in hand after the mine is closed. Also worth considering is the yearly production or yearly net returns when the mine is fully operational since that contributes to the P/E ratio.

There has been a lot of talk in "right wing", "patriot", "conspiracy theorist" circles of 1) Trump ultimately winning re-election, and 2) Trump returning the US to a gold standard. The former is a conversation for another time, but the latter is what confuses me. Specifically HOW would instituting a gold standard for the US economy be done? What is the step-by-step process for converting from a half-century of fiat currency back to a gold standard, especially with the insane money printing of late? And if it indeed is a gold standard, not a silver standard, wouldn't the gold price (and gold mining stocks) rise disproportionate to the silver price (and silver mining stocks), at least initially?

>Specifically HOW would instituting a gold standard for the US economy be done? What is the step-by-step process for converting from a half-century of fiat currency back to a gold standard, especially with the insane money printing of late?

It is extremely easy to go back to a gold standard; can be done with the stroke of a pen and in the blink of an eye. "Going back to a gold standard" simply means that you allow your national currency to be convertible into gold. You announce that "$15,000 now = 1 ounce of gold," and that is that. People can now redeem that paper for an ounce of gold. Same thing goes for issuing a platinum standard (as we might see in Russia), or a silver standard (as we shall almost certainly see in Latin America).

If Russia and China went back to the gold standard, the dollar would immediately crash to zero, and suppression of commodities on the COMEX would cease. So silver would soar on that basis alone. However, it is almost certain that the Latin American nations would then remonetize silver.

Instituting a gold standard would probably crash any economy that tried it in the short run. Probably not Russia since their interest rates are more sensible than everywhere else, and maybe not China because their citizens save so much money that new capital would quickly adjust.
The actual mechanics of it would be simple, provided a nation already has gold reserves AND they publish an audit done by the most respected accounting firms from a variety of different countries. The political will outside of countries that have been abused by the dollar is another matter.

>Do you think that the US could potentially choose a silver standard, instead of a gold standard?

I'm not really sure what the U. S. will do. Is the gold still there in Fort Knox or isn't it, is a question which is often debated. There are theories that J. P. Morgan is hoarding its silver for the U. S. in order to remonetize silver again, but who knows what the truth is.

>>25964163

The historic GSR is 1:15, but even in fairly modern times it has generally been 1:40. So as the GSR is still 1:70, I'd continue to bet on silver even if I felt sure that it would never be monetized again. Again, silver is so critical and invaluable for industry, so rapidly consumed and rarely stockpiled, so quickly depleting from places where it is still easy to mine, so undervalued in price ($25 today vs $850 inflation-adjusted ATH of 1980).

Techically it is easy. However, that would also require
a) defaulting on existing debt (through inflation or honestly)
b) stop future budget deficits

Step b) is not going to happen unless politicians are forced to it because a) happens and popular demand for gold standard soars. Unless, of course, there is some kind of an plan, which I doubt.

Every country will have to go back to a gold standard in the end. It is only that those who are prepared for the death of fiat will thrive from its demise, while those who are not will suffer dreadfully. If your nation doesn't have gold, nor a strong economy to earn gold and stockpile it, then it will simply become a third world country. That is why this is going to be "the greatest wealth transfer in history." First-world nations will be becoming third-world and vice versa.

The thing is, mouthpieces are pushing an electronic banking crisis right now like they pushed covid last year. If they want a centrally controlled electronic currency they will remove the competition.
United States did this back in the 1860s - all other currencies up until that point could be used in daily purchases since there was no shortage of coins minted by spain, france, and britain.
They'll do the same here. Destroy the competition, roll out their model. With shitcoins it's not physical so if they hit you with an EMP or some viral load that targets shitcoin wallets it's game over and you're a pauper. If my house burns down my gold may melt to the floor but it's still there. With the PM route when they roll out globohomobux our asset will be revalued at that, just like anything else, corn, oil, land, etc. Plus maybe we can trade ours on the side- with a digital currency it's going to be harder on you when globohomo wants to surveil everything. Please note that you can search by keyword at the top right. Terms like: gold, economy, stock market, fiat, central bank, Trump, etc. return results of some interesting discussions.

"Ignoring the potential war possibilities, the second question we should be asking is the incoming inevitable monetary system collapse.
I heard that either World Bank/IMF had a technology to imprint gold into paper currency to back it with real value which makes a lot more sense as a system, which would be a rational system with fractional reserve banking removed in the future, my main question however is what do you see happening when all the system collapses on this debt? Ideally we would just protest - destroy the central banks and go for the paper gold but a lot of people both poor and rich will be unhappy about this. Writing off all the debt would be needed as well but that would mean some nations get a massive advantage.
Do you or your fellow insiders have a solution to this problem? Because I am not so optimistic to think that bankers and politicians will just willingly step down.

>>80753803>inevitable collapse
The system is rigged. Spontaneous collapse is the not the nature of a rigged system. Instead, a slow grinding down is what you can expect.
As to gold fetishization, we strongly discourage this. You're trying to stop the bankers from printing freely, but they do this to plug preexisting flaws in the system. It's often presented as if printing money *is* the flaw in the system, but this isn't the case. You guys are advocating removal of a bandaid and calling that a cure."

Would not surprise me if instead of being an "insider" he was actually a psyop like Qanon with the perpetual "2 more weeks, trust the plan" business. Everything which he says about money-printing, "gold-fetishization," etc. is standard misinformed Keynesian trash. Anti-statism _is_ the answer, and money-printing _is_ the origin of most our problems. Howard Buffett got it exactly right in 1948.

Thank you for your input. Keyword searches of this database for any topic that may interest you will probably return results. These threads went on for nearly a year, I believe. Interesting post from 2016:

"1. Is the big recession still coming in the very near future? After the inauguration? I dumped my holdings a couple months ago and am both amused and annoyed that the market has surged recently.
2. How come hilldawg wasn't able to steal the election? What went wrong?

Yes. Stock market highs are to be expected with a Trump victory. Justifies rate hikes, crashes the value of bonds, thus setting the stage for bank solvency issues all while painting the picture of a booming recovery being handed to Trump for him to "mess up" (be blamed for the planned financial crisis)
Hillary never had much support and turnout was even lower for her than expected. There is a limit to how big of a landslide can be reversed through electoral fraud. Trump's margin far exceeded that limit."

He was correct about the stock-market highs, but this statement doesn't make sense in view of the fact that Trump is now leaving office (unless he really does have a secret plan up his sleeve and the Qanon types are right). Biden is now going to get the blame for the stock market crash, not Trump.

He also says:

>There is a limit to how big of a landslide can be reversed through electoral fraud. Trump's margin far exceeded that limit."

But in view of what happened in the 2020 election, that doesn't appear to be the case. (www.hereistheevidence.com)

America is funding the vast majority of its budget and economy with the dollar printing-machine. On the one hand it is severely indebted, on the other it has very little industry or savings (i. e. gold), that is to say, real wealth. When the dollar gets dumped, America won't be able to buy the things it wants or needs with dollars any longer, and instead will have to earn savings (gold) through hard work. It will become exactly as poor as the rest of the world becomes rich. Every country which has manufacturing and commodities won't be forced to sell them for worthless paper any more, and will enjoy the fruits of its labour. While every country which relied on borrowing and printing money to get its commodities and manufactured goods hitherto, will suddenly be left with nothing.

What I have said about America is quite as true of many Western countries (e. g. it is even more true of Britain).

>Why doesn't the government just print money and buy gold with that money

Because it would expose the dollar as a fraud. Gold is the direct competitor with the dollar as money. The U. S. does not want dollars chasing gold. There's very little real gold to buy; the spot price which you see on websites like Kitco or Goldprice is taken from the fake derivatives exchange known as the COMEX, where there are hundreds of digital ounces traded for every real ounce in the vaults. They like to do a lot of manipulation there to scare people away from PMs via volatility. But if there was a default on the COMEX, it would be an utter disaster for the dollar. It would show how scarce real money is when compared with paper currency, and make people dump dollars for real goods. The system is extremely fragile and close to breaking.

These things take time to work themselves out.
Familiarize yourself with the 2008-2009 recession because what's happening now is practically the same thing but on a greater scale.
Oil rising for instance.
Also when the 10-year bond yield goes up that's a bearish economic indicator (as if anyone needed something to tell them this is a bad economy)
GDP down means dollar strength in the short run.
You won't see a correlation between an announcement of $1400 checks and dollar weakness, it just doesn't work like that.
I won't make the same mistake I did in 2009, I literally made a gentlemen's bet with a friend that oil would go up to $150/bl due to money printing, and lost big. He bet on cheap oil and bought calls on SPY and made a million dollars.
I'm not saying the dollar will not eventually fall precipitously but you cannot predict when it will happen (I understand from /smg/ there's a 10% chance of it happening at any time though for so many reasons).

>> No.25972835

The path to gold and silver rising is as follows. A person should hold them at all times in case any of these six black swans occurs:

1) A banking crisis (many banking equities now trading at 30% or less of book value)

2) China, Russia, and other nations dumping the dollar and issuing gold-backed currencies (Russia now owns more gold than dollars, China has 20,000 tons)

3) A COMEX default (deliveries are unprecedented and this could always happen on any month)

4) An official gold-price revaluation

5) Civil unrest or secession in the U. S.

6) War

If not, then the inevitable path is as follows:

1) Yields continue to soar until we get more Q. E. and or YCC

2) More Q. E. and or YCC makes real yields plummet, gold and silver soar

You'll be looking for a while I think. If you're able to find outcrop that contains rocks that is are known to host visible gold in the area then I guess you have a chance to find a gold vein on the surface. But I don't think you'll be finding any gold veins without some prospecting knowledge at least. Honestly you're better off going panning if the area has any rivers or creeks.

I think a second crash is a very likely possibility. We only had a liquidity crisis in March. An insolvency crisis, which is different, was only postponed by govenrment intervention. There are lots of people and businesses who can't pay their bills, mortgages and rents. The Fed can print money and control interest rates, but they can't pay peoples mortgages for them.

I think it is highly unlikely that the Fed will raise interest rates, period. The only quick way I can explain it is to say it just isnt an option. Other developed nations, like Japan, had negative real yields about 10 years before the US, and they have simply kept them around a nominal zero percent.

One of the signs for hyperinflation looming is when M0 reaches GDP. Some experts consider this to be the point at which heavy inflation will start or hyperinflation may happen. The US is further away from this (M0/GDP approx 40% now) than the Euro zone (>70%). You can look up articles about seignorage capital for this. Then again: After inflation has happened, the GDP will be nominally larger and thus there is more money that can be printed. The difficult part is that at no point can a government let people lose confidence in the fiat, that's when hyperinflation happens. That said, the collapse can be postponed indefinitely if a balance is found between trust and not getting over the seignorage capital tipping point.

Smaller positions are reserved for shorter term investments in my case. I'm also accumulating some of these still, I want to buy more NHK and FWZ for example... But only so much capital to invest and so many opportunities. Compromises have to be made sometimes I guess. Will probably sell MEK and FFOX once they come out with drilling results.

I saw that guys were selling cheaper from croatia and Hungary. Is it safe to buy from there especially on eBay? I’m no expert, so I feel like I’ll be buying fakes if but from there. Lol.

A lot of older Austrian stuff is also very beautiful, especially the pre-WWI coins. The interwar and postwar Schillings are also pretty nice, but don't really stack up to the Imperial coins.
