No they work off different systems. Tropical (western) is seasonal, and the start of the chart is Aries under Mesopotamian calendar, since it is Spring, the start of life. Interestingly, Cancer is the start of the Egyptian calendar. Anyway, Western focuses on the seasons more, so that has to be a frame of thought.
