You can query whatever feed you want right in the application, no middleware needed.

It can verify signatures right in the application, meaning it can use any HTTPS website delivered by a reliable authority. It can also use any other scheme for verifying information.

That's not how reliable oracles work

>> No.25931982

>>25931884
Yes it is. Link nodes get the data from somewhere, they generally don't provide it themselves.

dfinity has never proven it can do oracles and it never will, enjoy your VC scamcoin

It can do arbitrary applications. Verifying TLS data is a solved problem. There's no need to prove that in particular because it's just making a HTTP request and verifying a signature. Guess we'll see when it launches.

>> No.25932660

>>25931783
That's not how it works, retard. The oracle problem is that a single data source can be spoofed. That's how every project not using LINK got hacked.

>> No.25932929

>>25932660
Hence you use a couple of source feeds, not a single one. The dfinity application can fetch data in exactly the same way a link node fetches it. If link nodes use feeds A, B, and C for a price feed, then a dfinity app can fetch these exact feeds. It just cuts out the middleman.

holy shit! The name is actually a nice play on definitive and infinity. I'm sold.
