3D Printing and laser cutting/etching shop.
Start up cost is pretty cheap and there nothing similar in the neighborhood.

REDPILL me on this Biz? Or is 3d printing already dead in the water?

Get a small place like a garage. Get the basic equipment. Validate the need by flyers and posters around your neighborhood. Also, try to get local newspapers interested and tell them your business with storytelling.

If that worked -> scale
If not -> pivot or stop

i started a 3d printing shop where i also teach 3d design, but the lockdowns fucked me. people seem to be interested in it and i had a few customers come in for custom parts (an airsofter for a magwell, a farmer for a specific tool, stuff like that). i also have a few designs of my own that i want to 3d print and then cast in silicone (nope, it's not a dildo)

As someone said, you're way late on the 3d printing boom. Anyone serious or interested has already bought a 200$ ender 3. The best you can do in the field at this point is run a small print farm for a few hundred a month on the side.

>print things for a museum
>the director wants a max price of x
>x is too low to make it worth my time
>he only expects 4 units sold a year anyway

How about I print 4 and then tell them to fuck off(but kindly)? I really want to put this item on my resume/business page.
