This is why we let facebook mine our data with impunity or why the oil industry can pollute the planet to the degree that it does.

From a marxist perspective it is the workers who should own the means of production and through democracy in the workplace the goals of the firm should be set, this frees up the workplace for doing more than just profit. Workers won't lower their wages to rake in more profits as it would be nonsensical, capitalist firms will and do.

Very quickly we can look at the issue of nationalisation and globalism, from a capitalist perspective opening your borders is a very good thing because you will let in immigrants whom you'll pay very little to do a lot. From a marxist perspective this is not so ideal.

Democrats are funded by capitalists that benefit from cheap immigrant labor. Republicans are funded by oil people. Both are capitalists. There is no left in the USA
