It doesn’t work 100%. But it gives you guidelines. Like the economics you learn in class, can’t be applied 100% to real world.

people make a living off of trading and ta, are you an idiot

>> No.25778550

The problem is not ta, I think it is the over patternization of it.

You can see ANY PATTERN YOU WANT, just change de hour, look at different candles, change indicators...

I think FA and TA would be really more effective if people just take it simple, and try not to do mathematical illusions (and I'm talking about it even if I made Rscripts to calculate thr estimated returns with fcf, but not compared to autists that think they are going to discover the next 2008 crisis)

TA highlights patterns of human response to price action over time. That's not a crystal ball, but it is a good tool as long as it's not your only tool. Right now is a good example. Bitcoin has broken down from a symmetrical triangle pattern that has been forming over the past few days. 40077 is the trend line it has to cross above or get rejected from to confirm the move, and that's exactly where the wick is on the one hour candle.

Yup. Markets are all about information, which is why insider trading is illegal, it's the most broken way to make money. Charts are the lowest tier of information, everybody has access to charts. The only reason anyone wins looking at the chart is because the market has a bullish bias due to inflation.

If BTC doesn't break that resistance, then there's a good chance it will dump by at least 10%. That's not a certainty, but it's likely.

It can become a self fulfilling prophecy
>price never goes below 200w moving average
>therefore lots of buying happens when price approaches that level
>therefore price never goes below 200w moving average
You have to remember that crypto is heavily manipulated, meaning that individual whales good enough supply/liquidity to make big changes to price-this can precipitate further action

TA *is* possible, it's called quantitative finance. However, quantitative finance is a completely different beast from meme lines, because they're approaching it from the standpoint of trying to get a 1% advantage from statistical models, then makings hundreds of bets.
Your average TA retail tard thinks that can they can predict the fluctuations in the market on a small number of stocks. If that were really possible, all the big players would be doing that instead of fiddling with Black Scholes models.

This. I know lots of people across banking and they just laugh at the idea of chart soothsaying. If the banks who have access to top talent don't bother then there isn't money to be made drawing meme survivor bias lines.

It does, you just have to make a bot that takes the inverse position than what the trending TA celebrities are teaching.

That's not what I said. I said it's more likely to go down. No method of prediction is perfect, but if you win more than you lose, you make money. You also need to realize that there are bots trading on breakout / breakdown patterns. Those bots have been scaling into short positions over the last two hours. They could get swamped, but it's more likely that they won't. I'm not trading this move, but if I were, I would sell my trading position here and look to re-purchase around 36,000.

They have to be consistently profitable with small risks, even if gains are lower, there's no need for them to chase those 2x or such.
They can't afford to have a -20% drawdown on a 1billion fund, like a retard retail trader (me).

>> No.25779412

TA doesn't work but there are definitely tendencies to different assets at various times. Like you can see that CLF is trending up and until recently it stayed within the trendlines pretty regularly, it even pulled back and all time highed every week. Then one day iron prices (it's an iron processor / miner) rose faster than normally and the swinging up trend turned into consistent up. TA is real until facts on the ground change it. It's safer to learn the facts on the ground.

it works as long as trend is well defined. Anytime btc reverses trend sharply, TA goes to bullshit.

and today's btc drop could be predicted by TA on 2h or 4h chart .It's dropping further to around 37200 and then going back up
