I only hold ETH and LINK because I am scared of altcoins. While I’m up around 300%, it’s poorfag money, 8 grand. I fantasize about selling my whole portfolio and going all in on something. But I am not a risk taker. I don’t speed. I am loyal to my girlfriend. I take a shower every day. My room is clean, too clean. Always orderly.

Based. but ngmi w/o taking a major risk or two... just come to terms w/ having a decent little crypto nest egg - maybe in 30 years, who knows?

Sell your eth for link for that "extra risk", don't hurt yourself with all that extra stress though buddy

Split $1k between 2-4 promising altcoins. If they 300-1000x in 3-5 years, you might make something but not it

>> No.25766266

Don't FOMO and go into altcoins. People here 3 years ago will tell you how bad it will get. If you have unreal gains right now, put it in BTC or ETH. Pretty much all but a few of those altcoins from then died and will never recover.

I know you are trying to demean me and ridicule me for my personality. That’s fine. I come from a place where taking risks gets you killed.

Hey, just know that sometimes, risk doesn't pay off. Bitcoin was 10k and ICX was .34. Last year. I bought into ICX. ICx is doing well, but from my price entry point, I would have been better off in Bitcoin. Not all risks pay off.

But hey, who knows, ICX might be hitting 2 dollars soon. Etiher way, I'm gonna stay comfy staking.

But won’t altcoins have a great run?

>> No.25766451

Alts have the most potential for huge gains, but when the next crash comes, and it will come, they will be hit the hardest, and those bags are unsalvageable. anon above mentioned ICX almost hitting $2, but that shit was $8 back then. And that's one of the coins that did better. I had most of my stuff in ETH and BTC, so I'm fine, but I did put a few thousand between NEO (was as high as $125-150 if I recalled), ICX, and fucking WaltonChain (got meme'd on this one), and I would have been better off just sticking all to BTC and ETH.

I understand. The question is really if we’re at the local top, peak, or takeoff phase. As much as I want it to not be true all these tweets and vibe I’m getting is telling me that we’re at least 1/3 through the cycle

Cryptocurrency honestly doesn't have much rhyme or reason, who who the hell knows? I could be completely wrong, and maybe I'll miss out. I think ETH will make a decent run, but then there will eventually be another huge selloff like we saw several years ago. The truth is that a lot people don't truly care much about the tech and see all of this a a way to get rich quick, so the stuff about "the tech is promising" is mostly just internet word of mouth stuff to prop up whatever coins people own. We're still in the nascent stages of all this, so people are willing to shill out thousands of coins when in reality maybe a select few will ever make it.

No you’re definitely right. Eths tech is the only one I can wrap my midwit brain around (sorta), I understand the barebones of LINK but the details are really hard to figure it out. In relation to 2017, I just wonder where we are in the cycle.

ive only got 11 grand and i've stuck with mainly safe HODLs until now, but bonded.finance has convinced me to throw a grand at this likely moonshot. it looks like doubling could happen anytime, easiest money ever, and it's entirely believable that it'll x100 soon.
