You are not on the cutting edge of anything. This information is years old at this point, and it's plainly stated on tethers website that their coins are not backed 1:1 by cash but instead includes equivalents, and also we've known for years that probably isn't true.
So for a black swan it sure isn't surprising to anyone. Unless you'd like to convince us that a bunch of internet autists just happen to be the only people in the know in a $1 trillion+ market.
Also, since this is well known, it is reflected in the price as is all information.
