maybe retarded but its the price I pay

So to my college educated fags, how much did you think you would make versus how much you make?

I couldn’t gotten this decent job with no degree and it sucks. Hoping Biden just cancels my debt lol. The college experience was 100% worth it ngl. But I wish I was more aware about the debt part of it. Like I wouldn’t want my kids going through it. I’ve been paying minimum for the last year.

Thought I'd started at least at 65 or 70ish. Instead I'm just now making 60k. Mechanical engineer. Not even doing real engineering either just doing gis grunt work. Sucks but it pays my bills and I don't get bitched at so it's not too bad.

I thought I'd make 60k as a computer science major. I made 40k, got a raise to 43k 2 years later, left for a new job for 70k, promotion to 81k 3 years later, slow raise to 92k over 3 more years, then laid off and scored a new job 3 months after the layoff at 120k. All in all bretty gud but you gotta maneuver right and fight for it but only when you can set it up so that they know they need your skills.

I'm a patty so this question might not much sense.
If the government didn't guarantee loans would the price of college be lowered to the point of justifying the banks stop handing out loans to most of the middle class?

>> No.25761830

>>25761586
I have no idea what your question is. Banks did give loans for college before but can't compete when the government comes in and guarantees anyone who can breathe while the bank student loans could be defaulted on

I got a degree in PSCI and live outside DC. I just wanted a job in the DoS like my grandfather in the 1950s. Passed the FSOT. Rejected because you need 10 years of experience, a master's and no penis in order to get in. The money wasn't even relevant, I just wanted a job with some basic standards.

Now I'm realizing all the money is in shit like working in the oil fields, trades and marketing/sales. So I'm going in that general direction with a certain pivot set up so I can get a second degree in Astrophysics for when SPACE becomes a meaningful industry, since that's going to be a quadrillion dollar industry over the next 50 years and I might finally make it (outside of stocks and crypto that is).

I'm a compsci major at my first job making 70k -- honestly thought I would be making closer to 80k. It's going awesome, manager is in love with me in a no homo kinda way, already advancing, will probably get a raise in the next 2-3 months.

ya I didnt know how good people in trades have it. Mine isn't even a top-tier trade at all, yet we're still treated extremely well. I'd argue even to the point of being unfair to the employer. Its so hard for me to get fired because of my union, even if I just no-show for a month, since I can take time off whenever I want for as long as I want with no repercussions.

Although I guess my company did pay for me to get a red seal certificate for roofing (literally paid me hourly to go to school) which was done at a college, but it was basically just highschool math and practical knowledge. I can't really say "fuck college", because doing that got me a massive pay raise.

The important thing is applying elsewhere in 2 years. Sad but true, applying elsewhere gets your a 40% raise while raises/promotions in-company are always low percentage increases. Get that experience though

Hate this fucking island, it doesn't treat people like me very well, wish i was born in the land of the free. Also anyone who gets a degree and goes into debt is a retard, you could get ahead in my field without a degree by directly going into the field itself and save yourself a lifetime of debt. I should have already made it by now, instead i have no money and no job, my health has deteriorated from being a NEET. It's a shame really because i don't even care about being rich, i just want enough money to mortgage a decent house for myself and my mother and not be at the mercy of others.
