Anyone else HATE spending money? I'm fine investing it, I'm fine dropping lots of money into a financial instrument without much hesitation, but I just HATE spending anything that won't earn me additional money

I've wanted a new laptop for ages and even though I've made tons of money in the past year I can't bring myself around to taking a little bit of it and buying one without feeling sick as if it's a waste.

Anyone too frugal due to the way their parents raised them?

Yes, I never spend money. It's freaking the worse thing ever without at least making twice what I'm spending back.

I have this problem. If I'm not making money with the thing I'm buying, I don't buy it. I could afford a new phone and swaggot shit, but I just don't care.

I'm frugal because I grew up dirt poor. So yes, I guess you could say it was because of the way my parents raised me.

Grew up in poverty with a single mother. Have lived in motels/my car with her while growing up.

Spending anything more than $10 puts me into a slight panic and I have to spend like 3 days doing calculations like a derranged autist to make sure I'm not accidently going to make myself homeless.

I'm the opposite, I am frugal as fuck despite my parents being complete consumer slaves, especially my mother who is addicted to buying worthless stuff. I starve myself most of the week because I got too lazy to prepare lunch and don't want to spend money on restaurants yet my mother treats herself to a nice buffet every day.

I feel you anon, but things like laptops are assets and are worth the investment. Assets are always worth it.

its rage-inducing how bad the average person is with money. my older bro just got married, bought a house and wants the whole family to go on a cruise with him and his wife which is $2000 each. I told them I have no interest in spending that much money on a boat ride and now they think I'm a selfish dick.

Yes, i hate spending money. Except when the cost-curve says that is better to pay now than to pay later, like an asset like this anon >>2575097 said. I try to follow cost curves for everything i do in my life. Has worked well most of the time. Still hurts to spend tho.

My professors at college used to passive aggressively try to talk down to me about white privilage.

I hope they all die in the civil war

But you'll get to lamboland then never end up buying a lambo

"Haha no guys, I just wanted to get here, not to actually do anything here"

If I were able to afford a lambo, I would probably drive a cheap car with good gas mileage that could be converted into a bed for when I take road trips
