Serious question anon
Fake scenario
>hold 10 btc in my ledger
>robbers come and hold a gun to my head: "transfer your btc to our wallet"
>Me who dosn't want to die transfers his btc to robbers wallet
>Robbers get away with it cause BTC is "decentralized"
What's the solution for this problem?

So the best solution is to trust a bank again, also u can't walk to your bank, get the key, make your payments and deploy the keys again every time you want to buy smth

This is one of the biggest drawbacks of it crypto compared to institutional banking. Whoever comes up with a real solution will stand to profit. Only protection right now is secrecy. It's a very bad idea to make it known you hold significant crypto.
>>25736247
Not a solution. Element of surprise and greater numbers trumps being armed.

Why hold it in a ledger? Put your key in a bank which only allows you to enter with fingerprints other biometric data. Even if you give them your password (which you wont cause you wont know it) they cant get into the bank vault.

One of the most difficult things with crypto is being your own bank for these reasons. There will always be room for a safe guarded trusted location for you to put stuff in which only you can access physically. Banks will survive for that purpose even if they don't hold our money. itself.

no man, literaly crypto banks. they manage your keys. its allowed everywhere now, theres swizz, german , spanish and italian banks that have crypto custody now. tons of asian banks have it. kraken has it which is a bank now. i mean. you don't have to hold your own keys if you feel like you need a bank to hold them for you then thats possible

Hmm, you seem to be thinking along the lines of being jumped by some nigger in the street. I'm talking about more of you have 6 figures plus, which is what I thought this thread war about, but could be wrong. Having a handgun because your bed isn't going to stop a career standover man. Especially if there's a crew of them. Drug dealers and other criminals get robbed all the time by guys like this but it never gets reported obviously.

Can’t you double spend the coins? Send the coins to your wallet and pretend you messed up,then send the coins to their wallet with a tiny fee so it takes ages to confirm on the chain.
Your dilemma is a bit unrealistic since it wouldn’t exactly be a robbery it would involve many complex elements of kidnap, hostage taking, potential torture, cyber crime...
Also why bitcoin? You could in theory trace it back to your robber since they would have to exchange the btc somewhere and btc is a public ledger?
I suppose the solution would be to not hold bitcoin to avoid the scenario, or to create an multi person time locked wallet.
So you would need 3 people in 24 hours to confirm a withdrawal?
