Is it worth learning to trade? I don’t mean buying and holding, but fucking around with calls, options, leverage, etc on FTX or some other platform? I don’t know what any of those things mean but leverage. Do most of you guys do this?

I imagine it’s easier in a bull market, you can just long everything.

Hi, trader here. I would say that learning how to trade it would be useful even for an investor stand point because allow you to recognize good entry/exit points.

I'm personally kind of a "boomer" trader, I don't leverage and DCA because crypto is already volatile enough to make good money per trade.

Retards try to predict the future, I react to the market and currently is bullish as fuck so can't trade much and sell a bit every 10% btc or eth go up.

Idk but I've been here since 2017 and finally felt comfortable making a play and I'm up $40,000 vs if I was sitting on my ass in LINK.

I went through this trend in 2018. I'll lay out a blackpill that no one really says here.

Unless you have some programming skills and a high background in mathematics, forget about learning to trade and invest in shitcoins instead.

People on jewtube will tell you that learning technical analysis is enough, but you need more than that because technical analysis overall is bullshit. The big boys at wall street hire quants. Quants are people with PhDs in STEM degrees who focus on making formulas to beat the market and program bots as well as have very fast internet connection to beat everyone.

The world is going by really fast and bots are dominating the market, specially crypto. The day of being a human day trader is now over. Bots rule the market now. Learning calls, options, leverage is fine in itself, but actually making it a job is just asking to be in debt. Even in a bullmarket, you run the risk of getting liquidated if the price goes a certain percentage against yours. Just invest in shitcoins and avoid the headache.

no, literally buy and hold enough to make it in 5 years then free your mental real estate for other things that you enjoy. the older I get the more protective I get of my mental bandwidth. just DCA till u make it.

Its worth learning A trade
Its not worth learning to trade.
Just hold

Horrible advise

A lot of bots lose money too, and there is a certain "intuition" that you get you been in the markets for a while.
The hardest thing about trading is emotional discipline, risk management and finding a trading style that suits you. Don't expect to be able to do money consistently for at least 6 months and more likely for a year

Into the trash it goes. That's every shit trader's motto.

Statistics > "its all psychological bro" tier meme advice.

Frankly speaking, learning to trade is ridiculously hard. The few who can, though, are set.

I didn't said it's all psychological you fucking retard, but my emotions got me into bad positions and got me out of good positions more time than I can count. It's every traders motto because it's actually true, if you've traded or what how other people trade in real time it becomes fucking obvious.

You talk about statistics, most market movements are randoms walk, if you're trading you want to look for setups that are high probably and put the odds in your favor, this means a lot of times you shouldn't be trading at all, over trading is one of the best ways to lose money

It's always useful, but it's hard - mostly on a psych point though.
Serious advice, read "trading the Ross Hook" by Joe Ross, it can teach you everything you need to start trading.
In crypto market buy and holding is always the best long term advice - especially the shit that can x10 - but to pay for hookers without touching your stash, trading is the best solution.

Emotions is literally part of psychology you brainlet mouthbreather.

Also, first of your paragraph is just anecotal bullshit with no actual backing. Part of the scientific method involves using procedures that can be replicated time and time again. Such anecdotes like "Man muh emotions got me into a bad tradee" can be easily falsified by saying "Well I was highly anxious on a caffiene overdose and still made a good trade" which actually happened to me back in 2019 when BTC went up 40 percent and still made a 300% profit on a long position but it doesn't matter because it's anecdotes at the end of the date with no actual backing.

>You talk about statistics, most market movements are randoms walk
Lol no. Edward Thorp challenged this position and was one of the pioneers that brought probability and statistics into the field of finance, which why Quants look up to him.

> if you're trading you want to look for setups that are high probably and put the odds in your favor, this means a lot of times you shouldn't be trading at all, over trading is one of the best ways to lose money
You literally have no idea what you're talking about. Please shut the fuck up.
