He's self destructive in a way that you rarely see. He doesn't just want to be cool or famous, he also wants to be seen as an intellectual big shot and that's something that he's smart enough to know that he can't ever really attain. I've known plenty of pseuds and poseurs, and plenty of pseuds who wanted to be cool, but pseuds are usually much dumber than Musk and lack his resources. The man has periodically self destructed in minor ways but he winds himself up predictably like clockwork to do it again.

Tesla will eventually make more than just cars. I got in at around 40 thanks to a dude with a Tesla that I helped install a charging station for. I sold it all at 777 because I watched the quality of the cars deteriorate over time. A monkey could slap together cars with more attention to detail. This was a good indication of where the company is headed. A bottom of the barrel Toyota has better body work that a Tesla. Perhaps I made a mistake but I'm just going with my gut.
