With $1200 to invest, would you rather get 1 ETH or 7 LTC?

That is, for the same initial investment, is it better to have less of a higher-priced crypto or more of a lower-priced one, considering they've both been gaining steadily recently?

I would think it's always better to have more coins than less, all other things being equal; or, does that not matter at all?

Just wait for the downturn anon but if you are antsy in the pantsy go for ETH because ETH is dank

Agreed. Does the amount of coins not matter, then? For some reason I can't wrap my head around wanting more coins for the same investment, thinking they'll split or something. I think I'm falsely equating crypto to stocks.

Makes sense. So, essentially, invest in whatever crypto is rising quickly at the moment (ideally, buying at a dip); in this case, BTC.

Even if I can only afford about 0.04 BTC right now? When I put it into portfolio simulator, it calculates an immediate loss; but, I'm guessing that's only short term or because I had to pay like $15 in fees. With BTC still increasing quickly, I'd still end up with more gains quicker than the same amount invested in LTC or ETH?

You buy 0.1 of Coin A for $100
You buy 10000 of Coin B for $100
Both coins gain 10%
Your 0.1 Coin A is now worth $110
Your 10000 Coin B is now worth $110
You see how that works OP? It doesn't matter how much of whatever coin you have, it's how much the price increases.

don't listen to these faggots op, they're trying to lead you astray. more is always better, that's why you want a coin that's pretty cheap. like XRP is only 32c right now, but is a top 4 coin.

Eth has half a dozen competitors trying to knock it off the perch by doing what it does in a reasonable amount of time for a sane fee. Even with the first mover advantage and network effect, the future will be rocky even if Vitalik manages to release upgrades on time.
Litecoin is like that movie studio The Asylum, whose entire business model was to release movies with a similar title direct to video when Hollywood blockbusters came to the video store. Atlantic Rim, Pirates of Treasure Island, shit like that. Except in this analogy, The Asylum would be valued at almost $12 billion.

this faggot might have something though.

LTC to BTC is 4:1 on marketcap. both are old and thus considered "safe" blockchains. almost identical, one is just quicker implementing changes (testbed).

if he can have 7:1 in amount to the 4:1 marketcap... it might pay out in the endgame. who knows. but BTC is king and thus shall be bought over everyhting else.
