Don't. Rich people are typically defensive as they've already made it. If they're rich and they're not defensive they're probably blowing fuck you money. As a short stack you're looking for the one in ten thousand stock that's going to take you to the moon like TSLA, AMD, and Netflix all did for people. For me, the only one that I truly see right now is AMRS, but there are certainly others out there in the areas of dude weed, autonomous driving, green tech, cloud computing and many other areas. You need to do find the right company, do plenty of research for yourself (don't trust these fags) and commit to it and walk away for a while before you do something emotional like sell at +/- 50%. I don't know anyone who's made it by just copying, although you'll probably get the idea from someone else.

Let's talk about AMRS since so many tards decided to buy into AMRS today at the $9ish peak. I am considering buying AMRS calls and a few thousand shares later.

Their CEO has overpromised a lot in past years and TONS of share dilution....which I'm sure you've seen looking at the 5 year chart. Also there's a good amount of short interest from that ongoing Lavvan lawsuit. Their business also demands high capex and results in low margins.

These are all the bear points I have for AMRS at the moment.

Yeah, the CEO has resorted to some shitty sales tactics and burned investors in the past. But they're selling things finally, and hopefully to China soon. Also to dude weeds maybe soon. This may not actually be the moon mission, but if it's not the only question I have is when, not if.

Correct. Even with a new CFO, I think the CEO Melo will take all the profit and then stock will plummet again, repeat and rinse. thats how he make money. just follow his action.

The main reason why I want to trade, rather than just hold AMRS, is dilution is always lurking just around the corner and you never knew when it was going rear it's ugly head in a big way.
Their tech has always been super impressive....the financials a complete disaster.
But in order to sell into this run you have to think major dilution is still in play....and I just don't think that's the case (and I could be horribly wrong).
Their consumer brands will jump north of 100% sequentially from Q3 (from 12M to north of 25M) and their ingredient business will finally start to show a similar trend (after moving north at a 25% annual clip for years will push up 100% sequentially also.....18M to north of 45M).
Then combine those numbers with the 27M cash they just picked up from Doerr exercising those 5M warrants at 2.87.....along with 30M in the asset sale.....and another 10M in Jan when Doerr exercises the other 3M warrants...bringing in nearly 70M cash.
Then those other assets sales will kick in by mid year along with 20M more warrants that expire midyear and you're looking at plenty of cash to not only pay for their new plant (65M) but fund the company until their recurring revenues bring self funding (without asset sales) into reach.

Another cause for AMRS was that shitshow with Farnesene (perfume-related compound). They apparently sold their existing multi-year farnesene supply agreement with Givaudan to DSM. DSM simply continues to strip the company of valuable assets. This asset was to be worth much more to AMRS than $50M. Melo is a pro at creating hype to new investors that is really not hype, this asset would have been better for shareholders to be kept, not sold on the cheap. Almost like a ponzi the way melo values deals high at the start and then later sells them on the cheap.

But they were going to change the world with biofuels once upon a time before oil prices came crashing down. The guy's scrappy. He's made missteps for sure, but his ability to pivot and sell has kept them alive and away from being swallowed up by a bigger firm or simply disappearing all the while still having 43% of their stock hodl'd by institutions who would have gladly dumped it if they lost faith.
