I don't get the difference between Limit trading and Stop-Limit trading. Both these transactions go through once the price is reached, so what's the difference?

limit = turns into market at level
stop/limit = turns into limit at price level

So the Stop price is the price that triggers a Limit order, and the Limit price is the specific price of this Limit order. is that correct?

I hear that when the Stop price is reached, the Limit order will be immediately placed on the order book? So what is the benefit of delaying placing the order on the book?
