Yep but the way things are going it’s still gonna go up. Just wonder what the targets will be tho. 100k? 200k? 500k? If it goes way too fast and waaay too steep in a short amount of time, it’s definitely also gonna come crashing down hard. Question would be when to cash out and at what price?

Ok lol
Problem is we really don't know because it could be much harder to get to $56k and $1T marketcap than expected
We'll know by late summer roughly how high we might go eoy
If we peak in late summer at $56k ish then we'll probably top at about $165k in December
Problem is, if you really look at the last two cycles proportionately to this one, based on the cycle lows compared to previous ATH prices..
it implies a top of $386-$392k I think

I get that number mostly from the cycle lows being roughly 3X off the previous ATH
In this case, $19,600 x 3 = ~$58,000
And because the parabolic rejection or blowoff top has typically seen an ~85% correction afterward, (ranging from 75% to 90% )
Based on that 75-90% drawdown range and that $58k potential bottom I've projected, the top could really range from $232,000 to $580,000

I don't know whether that's a crazy forecast or I'm just an oldfag in disbelief

>> No.25598301

>>25598030

With institutions holding, it's messed up everything. I really don't think we'll get the ~85% correction this time. Also, the price alone would put a lot of dumb money off this time round. I know a few in my family who have given up even bothering, due to them feeling like they've really missed the boat completely

On the other hand I trust in bubbles
The fomo is strong
Besides I think people will still get hyped at the thought of 5-10Xing their money when it's $100k and people will be saying "BTC to $1million eoy!" I guarantee, even though there's no way in hell we get there this year

That said, some are saying we could only see a 50-60% correction this bear market like in commodity markets

>In a 51% attack, one miner or mining group gains enough hash power to take control of 51% or more of a blockchain network to double-spend Bitcoin and block any and all transactions
bitcoin relies on the idea that computing power and the production of computing power is inherently decentralized and equal, as long as it is not equal natural monopolies will form and Bitcoin will go to zero

if someone had a machine capable of creating gold out of thin air with no cost the price of gold would go to zero in a second - even if no gold had yet been created
the gold machine is a credible threat and a credible threat of an asset being hyper inflatable or losing its ability to operate is all that is needed to render it worthless

bitcoin has had the threat of double spending and transaction blocking looming over it since inception (double spending has even happened once) and the fact that people haven't realized this credible threat yet just means that a lot of people will end up losing everything they own once the threat stops being a threat and becomes reality

I'm worried we won't see a dip back to 3X ath next cycle. Also considering the time horizons of some of these insitituitions....I'm wondering about the game theory for someone like pay pal to just say, fuck it we are going to buy all the coins we will ever need in the next 4 years, then just farm money from normies trading our treasury with us. this could mean selling at even 100k means you get priced out of the buy back in.

bitcoin gold has been double spent multiple times
think the full sum lost is $18m
Zencash, LCC and Verge also got fucked in 51% attacks

all this means is that crypto is not a store of value because it doesn't meet the requirements
crypto can still be used to transfer an arbitrary amount of value from a to b as long as people are willing to use it
