The token is intended to function as collateral and to pay usage fees on the network. There is nothing unique about this feature, they could just have used Eth instead.
the only reason for actually having a link token was to raise money (and they succeed with that).

Get data in a decentralised manner on chain, i.e. not one source of truth. For others on the chain to use it. OP I’m going to give you some actual advice, the token is not needed. This ‘link army’ you speak of is an elaborate Reddit psyop to get you to part with your money. It’s literally an erc-20 token (with talk of it actually being downgraded to an erc-10). Run by known scammers and likely to make you miss any gains you could get in BTC but traditional stocks will no doubt do better this year so hold those and get off this racist scum board.

My advice is to go on jewtube, type in Sergey Nazarov, and watch one of his presentations. then watch another and another until you get it.
