Can someone explain this to me?
Also I always get an error attempting a transaction through uniswap, it takes like $5 worth of eth for every failed transaction.

has nothing to do with metamask anon. it's what a swap costs through the uniswap contracts. every function call has a cost..... the more calculation that's required the more computing resources it uses...hence, the more gas it needs. this is just what it costs right now

metamask (and every other wallet) is just an interface for your address anon.....it's not possible to put anything into metamask. you simply unlock and access your address with metamask. you can use any wallet to do this so long as you have your private keys.
that said..... yes, metamask is the most user friendly web3 wallet

Metamask only supports ERC-20 tokens.
Get yourself a desktop wallet, somethnig like Atomic wallet, Its far better than leaving your funds on exchanges.
That being said, try to buy a hardware wallet if possible.

Also, if you are a poorfag like me, its probably better to buy LCX from somewhere else.
I quickly created an account on Hotbit. Just deposit your USDT there and you are ready to go. Price of LCX is a bit higher than on UNI atm, but if you just want to throw 20 tether at it, its far better and cheaper way right now.
