Sales slave here who managed to save a bit for an investment (40k) by doing side jobs and living frugally for years (I've also been single since highschool and do not plan on ever marrying or having children). I'm 30 right now, and the only reason i did any of this so I don't fucking have to work for someone in later years

I'm willing to burn all of it for a chance of not ever again working for someone financebros, so even insane ideas are welcome.

welcome anon. Let's review:
>30 years old
>saved $40k since high school
>never gonna get married, never gonna have kids

off the top here are my reactions:
1) saying that you're never going to get married is a financially costly decision. Having a second income / having someone to split all your bills with helps you save a lot of money over your lifetime, and it's virtually impossible to buy a house on one income
2) you saved $40k over ~12 years. That's $3.3k per year, or $275 per month. Sorry to say, that's not enough. You need to get a higher income or reduce your expenses -- or else you'll probably be working for at least three more decades before you can retire

as far as what to do with the $40k, here's my advice:
>keep $5k in a savings account; this is your emergency fund to help you if you lose your job and need to live off savings while you look for a new job
>open an account on Coinbase and invest $5k into bitcoin
>open an account on Fidelity and split the remaining $30k between the three major US stock indexes: SPY, QQQ, and DIA

I'm anti social retard anon but I always assumed that if I married, I would have to be the primary provider, in that a wife, with whatever little saving she has, isn't expected to work per se? Am I missing something? For a house, is a single to two bed house really that much to build?
>That's $3.3k per year, or $275 per month, not enough
Fuck man I knew it. If it helps, I already have 10k saved for emergency, 6k of which were given to me by parents early on in life

Ok I got it. I already subtracted emergency things. My thing right now is to find a realistic income source that doesn't leave a 50+ years old at the mercy of an employer. Maybe I should go back to college to make myself marketable(I forgot to mention I don't have a degree, it's part of why I don't have any debts)?
