Fucking university ruined my dreams. I tried, like an idiot, to take a bunch of math courses my sophomore year that were way, way over my head with a bunch of PhD students because I was deluded into thinking "If I study enough, I'll be able to pass it no matter how hard it is" and did terribly, even though it was an Ivy League school. Then it was all kind of downhill from there. Ended up with a 3.1 GPA but thankfully some actuarial company hired me. Got in trouble for cheating on a math homework assignment by looking up an answer online too. I'd never get into a good graduate school.

Realized my junior year I needed to find some way of making money because I got married right after college and knew it even then and so here I am. Fuck all of this.

What I really want to do is make just enough to be able to quit and only work a part time job for my life. It's not exactly retiring, though that would be even better, but having enough money saved that I can work part time and go without a job for a while without too much harm. If I get some nice qualifications along the way, this might be feasible.

That would allow me to travel around working part time jobs, with my wife, and pursue jobs related to any interests I have. Follow my dreams kind of, without being too reliant on money.

I actually kind of wish I could be a police officer instead of working in this cubicle.

Like I said above, and I know it sounds kind of dumb, but one day when I have enough money I want to just quit my desk job and start looking for other jobs like this that are interesting or kind of exciting, but without worrying about the money.

I know being a police officer requires training and can be very dangerous but it's jobs like that which seem more interesting and exciting than wasting my life away at a desk with Excel all day.

I just want to have enough money that I can quit and take on a more interesting, but possibly worse paying, job in my life.

Ever heard of the term "Golden Handcuffs"?

This is what kills people slowly day after day, year after year. And long before they die they have lost their souls.

Why couldn't I be a girl. :(

>> No.2551905

I used to beg for money and food when i was 11yo until my 15s.

Now i own a small business and investing on cryptocurrency.

Life is much much better than i could have expected it to be in my childhood.

I might say my dreams are more than realized.

Music industry only works if you more good at marketing, have connections, or rich enough to buy that shit.

There's so many people trying to be musicians these days that it's literally one in 10,000 plus tat you'll actually get a small following and even lower odds of getting actual attention from podcasts/news
