>company announces permanent work from home
>not allowed to move to different state and they want me to remain living in metro area which office is in

Boomers are really going to try to force everyone back in the offices when this shit ends right? Why do boomers want to go back to the office so bad?

Boomer manager desperately wants this. Shes also the most annoying employee there. Constant webcam meetings, against "gossip" but wants no "bad attitudes" aka quiet people who dont participate in unpaid work functions and refuse to donate. Also she's old ugly fat and rich. Needless to say but she's unmarried.

Already ready to quit and I started not even 3 months ago.

how is this not legal? I moved out and live in New Hampshire now (tax free). but office location is in Arizona. I've asked if we are able to move out of AZ and they say no. Despite claiming permanent work from home. So makes no sense.

Arizona state income tax is low so its not like its that bad but it makes no sense why I should pay it if I moved and it is permanent work from home with no plans to go in the office. And I can do my job 100% from home without issue.

Why do boomers expect this? At my last job they pressured people to go out to eat after work. If I spend 8 hours with these people I don't want to spend another 1 or 2 hours unpaid. What is the logic behind this? And then they try to make you feel guilty when you say no.

and adding to this post. how do I get boomer manager to allow me to live anywhere if its permanent work from home. without threatening to sue if that is illegal or be a rude dick about it. don't want to get fired

I did move and did not tell manager. But its ridiculous I can't do this officially. and am still paying taxes to a state I do not even live in. Probably 100 a month or so in state income tax

They can’t force you to stay but they can reduce salary if your wages were based on cost of living in the area. My company pays 20% higher salary in certain metros to account for cost of living
