The problem is they're minting USDT to buy bitcoin with, which is then used to mint more usdt and buy more bitcoin. This only really works if bitcoin continues to go up in value. In their own words (so its probably less), only about 75% of tether is actually backed by any assets, and once the price pulls back, and people start trying to sell, the crash is going to be made exponentially larger.

With USDT it is different because they are SUPPOSED to be pegged to $1, as if, every single USDT should be able to be cashed out to an actual 1 USD. But it is all bullshit, they are not transparent and are printing empty money.

The US can print that much without any negative short term effects because many people in the world are saving their income/earnings in dollars. What the fuck are they going to do once shit goes back to normal?
