You can't really look at it like that. Investing is basically just educated and intelligent (hopefully) gambling. In poker, if you have a hand like 9J in different suits, you fold preflop because there was a raise then 3-bet ahead of you (9J is sort of a mediocre hand in that situation), and the floor comes JJ9. You only lost your big blind/ante, you didn't lose what the pot was after you folded, even if you would have won it. At that point the flop is irrelevant to you except for data to judge your opponent's ranges and betting patterns. Looking at things your way is kind of a gambler's fallacy because hindsight is always 20/20. At this point your decisions 5 years ago are irrelevant, because they already happened.

You cant gamble based on what could have been, only on what you think might happen in the future. tl;dr, change your mindset and get over it

Back when Bitcoin was $100, I used 25 Bitcoin to buy a .38 handgun off the deep web. I was always high, thought it would be cool, braggin on my friends. I actually got it a week later in a wrapped package on my front door. I panicked when I shot it once in my back yard and tossed it in a nearby creek. At that time I had atleast 300 bitcoin...missed the bull run in 2017 and my mom threw out my computers that had at least 100 bitcoin on them when I went to prison in Jan 2017.
