So with just 1 million dollars, and at an 8% APY, I can earn 80k a year.
I thought you guys said 1M wasn't enough to make it..

Put it in BTC

2x a year

Just half in BTC. The rest you can spend.

Money, for the rest of your life.

It's not once you account for taxes and fees. you need at least 3 million. With 3 mil youll be able to live comfortable for a decade or two while giving half of your yearly cash out to uncle Sam. This is if u live in the US

Well I'll never get to 1M with Bitcoin lol. Maybe if I had like 10 or 15

You don't understand. You make more money with money. And you live comfortably on a portion of it.

Wut? Lots of crypto services are offering 14% on stable coins, that's 140k/year with 1m assets, learn2DeFi

It's not outside the realm of possibility that more and more vendors start accepting crypto soon. Specifically USDC.
I bet I could get my profits in USDC and farm yields forever and never have to cash out to fiat.
That's the goal at least. If I can get there. Somehow.

Atleast 50% in BTC. It's the safest bet. Do gambles with the rest.

>> No.25372004

Can't you also cash out to wBTC and yield farm with that too?

>> No.25372047

Yeah you can but you shouldn't. 8% APY is achievable in stocks, or crypto if that's your flavor, but you will live a while and need to adjust your income for inflation.
Rather than paying yourself 80k a year and having no growth (thus dilution at 2% per year) pay yourself less now and let the rest accumulate value so you're not fucked at 70.

market cap of stocks to gdp can't grow indefinitely. Everyone knows current valuations are a bubble. Current ratio of 185.6% is higher than it was during the peak of the dot com bubble.
It may last another 10 years but stocks are going to underperform over a lifetime.

Most likely inflation higher than what stocks are returning, and with China certain to become the biggest economy this decade American economy is going to rapidly start losing its importance.

You don't need to cash out in order to gain interest, since DeFi exists. That means you don't *really* need to pay taxes on your total. Only on whatever you decide to convert out. ie, your APY

>> No.25372628

>8% for stablecoin
That's shit. You can stake DRC token on Dracula.Sucks and earn 12% APY paid in ETH. Or put your BTC in Blockfi and earn 8%. Both give you yield while retaining the upside of BTC and ETH.

smart contract risk vs. centralized holding risk. in the case of 12% vs 8% the latter is a better trade off. I'd want 30%+ to hold on a smart contract

>> No.25372931

I will never understand why people would trust $1m with something as "new" as decentralized staking. Just throw your money into an index fund if you want to make money that way, same strategy but you're not going to risk getting rugpulled or anything like that, plus your money's insured.

I make 110% APY staking FARM tokens. Even if the token price drops 50% and stays there over the course of a year I am still making more than a 50% return.
