Inflation technically means just expansion of the money supply not price increases. Prices can stay the same or drop a little for some things, but still drop less than they otherwise would if the money supply had expanded less.. Some prices might stay the same or drop despite large increases in the money supply over the years, simply due to increased technological and economic development. That does not make large expansions of the money supply a smart or moral thing to do.

>>25360156
Bitcoin's growth hasn't been solely dependent upon fiat currency devaluation or retail price increases.

>> No.25360253

As is most money printing will not lead directly to severe CPI inflation.
The stimulus checks however did/will espcially if $2000 goes through.

It's about how much of the printed money actually circulates and as is, most never leaves Fed balance sheets or trickles out. Remember a lot of money we print is the government forgiving its own branches of debt (see omnibus bill now there's like a 1bn item for just printing money to forgive the post offices past loans.) The Fed mostly prints money, buys corporate debt, then corporations buy bonds directly from the Fed.

This. Around 2010 being a young 20's lad, I was going out to fast food several times a week and everything was "about a dollar." Then I stopped going to fast food for a few years and then I go now and am flabbergasted that the prices have all doubled.

That is what made me realize that inflation is out of control and I gotta invest. The only reason why I think grocery store food is still cheap is because I'm certain that most of it is subsidized. It would all quadruple overnight if the government didn't artificially keep food cheap. You gotta be prepared for the collapse of government/USD

I've heard an interesting story about gold. It went something like this. Two thousand years ago, with a gold coin in hand, you could buy a really nice Roman robe and sandals. Today, with the same amount of gold, you'd be able to a really nice suit and shoes. Gold has retained its value in such a way that you can get the same amount of goods that you could back then that you could today. The same couldn't be said about the dollar. $100 would get you a ton of stuff back in the 1920's, but not so much today.

B) The entire point of UBI is that it gives equal amounts to those who work and those who don't. There are no disincentives or poverty trap that exists with UBI, which is greatly superior in contrast to existing systems of Unemployment and Food Stamps etc.
C) You assume that the economy needs all of its population to be in the work force to be productive. There are many faults to this logic but the most important ones are that the unemployed are an important reserve labor force, and second is that labor is not additive especially in our current advanced economy. I don't think the Federal Reserve want to print money for the sake of personal gain honestly. They're mostly already as wealthy and powerful as you're going to get in one lifetime and it's more that they're pot committed to modern monetary theory and have no choice but to keep going down that road. Inflation at least keeps people spending instead of hoarding and reduces the burden of debt on poor people carrying it.

so what happened isn't inflation really but market rate went down a lot.
Investments assets are discounted by the interest rate, so they are now valued much higher.
It's not real inflation because commodities are low and mostly unchanged for the last 15 years.

Imaging being such a NPC you believe every story coming out of articles like a good little slave.

If news told you to put on a mask you would do it, if the news told you to being a women is good for you, you would do it. If the news told you to eat shit because you are human trash you would do it.

See the pattern here? People so indoctrinated they are blindly by the truth even when it's right in front of them.

Ok assuming inflation doesn't exist anymore (it does it's just offset by printing money)

That means that true inflation is simply the fact that the dollars value goes down.. Either way it's the same thing... Loss of purchasing power, whether it's because prices increase or the cake of currency decreases whatever you want to call it, it's the same thing.
