Welcome to XMR General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading privacy-coin!

Because Monero is secure, low-fee, and borderless, people can easily send money despite corrupt and broken governments or banks. This provides economic empowerment of individuals in oppressive countries or depressed economies.

Private financial history protects consumers and companies from price manipulation, supply chain exploitation, economic discrimination, or the like. Monero is the only cryptocurrency that has the features to serve as completely fungible, decentralized, electronic cash.

If you're new, feel free to ask any questions you like and a Monero Chad will be with you shortly.

Birb haters have no place here.

I'm as American as the Atom Bomb, and biz's monero community is from all the fuck over the world (summoning based LebAnon).

Calling XMR a scam is like calling water dry. The IRS put a bounty (which is as yet unclaimed) on monero's head because it works exactly as advertised.

The hacker or company who could break monero world instantly gain fame and permanent gainful employment, not to mention that IRS money, yet nobody has.

^Inb4 cyphertrace, they claimed to have done it to try to get technologically illiterate boomer government money, got fuckin humiliated, and didn't get shit for a reward from the IRS.

In conclusion, you're a faggot who's probably FUDing because he's too poor to add more to his sack. Go get some money, ya broke bitch.

This coin is so fucking buggy. I bought some on localmonero and sent it to my Exodus wallet address. A few hours later XMR is still nowhere to be found. Exodus support tells me to rescan the whole blockchain which is going to take a day during which I can’t use my XMR. I hope coins will be there at least and not disappeared in the ether. I can’t wait for Litecoin to release nimblewimble so I can buy on darknet without using this monero piece of crap.

This is the only crypto I have had problems with and I tried almost everything out there. I’m just using it because I’m a degenerate drug addict but can’t wait for it to die.

Monero is just an overpriced fork of bytecoin that can be tracked, use 0xMonero. It's account based so it can't be blacklisted, has built in privacy features, and works with Ethereum smart contracts.

>> No.25233376

As long as you sent it to the correct address on exodus you shouldn't have an issue with recovering them eventually, but it's a pain that its taking the extra time. I haven't used Exodus personally, but other anons in the thread might have more specific insight. Regardless, sorry to hear you're going through that. Crypto is a harsh mistress and i think most of us have had our headaches. I remember sending some btc to the wrong address in the early days and losing it forever.

The desktop gui wallet with a full blockchain download is the most secure option available anywhere in terms of privacy, but cakewallet is lightweight and still extremely secure alternative. CW is perfect if you're just buying monero to spend or store short term. If you're looking for long term storage and optimum security, an external hard drive can be had relatively cheap that will handle your storage needs for the whole enchilada.

GL and let us know if you have any other issues!

Monero isn't buggy. You are using a third party wallet instead of the Gui.
>1) I don’t have space on my computer to store the monero blockchain
You don't have to install the blockchain. You can simply connect to a remote node when using the Gui. go here: https://www.getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/remote_node_gui.html
>I tried using MyMonero wallet and these greedy fuckers asked me to “donate” 0.1XMR so I can see the transaction history.
Yeah because you are restoring a different wallet and it takes resources to scan because of lazy people like you who don't do research and learn how to connect to a remote node
> can’t wait for Litecoin to release nimblewimble so I can buy on darknet without using this monero piece of crap.
lmao never going to happen. The switch to Monero is happening and by this time next year the dark net will be 90% Monero.

I've heard of it but I've never used it. The Gui is the most recommended to noobies because it is the most up to date wallet and the interface is smooth, and it's also maintained by the monero developers.

it's possible. We can't really predict the market. If Bitcoin nose dives we will get dragged down as well, but we shouldn't bleed in usd as bad as the other cryptos.

There are powerful individuals who are doing their best to accumulate as much as possible. They do this through price suppression. The governments have chosen Bitcoin and will regulate the fuck out of it. Before the sheep figure this out, we keep stacking and try not to get to bothered by the fuckery on hand on this exchanges.

>> No.25247142

>>25245516
If it's maintained by xmr devs then i'll use it. Dude its soooo easy fuck using the desktop gui. Also you can create a wallet for pretty much any crypto. They also send you your backup. I'm about to just start using this.

>> No.25249771

I sort of agree.
The correct recommendation however for somebody is to download the Gui/Cli. If they don't want to download the blockchain, they can connect to a remote daemon. The Gui/Cli are directly from the developers so its the most up to date and has all the features that you would ever need, and because it is noncentralized you know that what you are getting is safe.
Guarda may be a legitimate option, but it is closed source and relatively knew. So I don't want to recommend wallets that could possibly exit scam or really suck. If your experience with it is great than perhaps it is a good recommendation.
The OP should also be updated to show more options. The wallet section doesn't show enough options, and the exchange section is particularly bad (it doesn't even mention Binance or Kraken lol).
Still, the two best light wallets are Cake and My Monero based on their history with the community and how the code is available to review.
>>25249304
lol yeah it's actually really good that the network is improving.
i'm not so sure it is fireice however.
