Anyone else have sub 100k net worth at 30?

Even if crypto 50x we aren't going to make it.

Should we all just get together and draw straws, one of us gets everyone's money and the rest neck themself? At least 1 of us will make it then.

Sure, all the time. The KR stopped operating in the late 90s, though there were still remnants in Poipet.
Drugs were crazy back then. You could buy a bottle of Kettamine by Bayer for $3 OTC then. I started a series of house parties for expats where I'd sell molly and we'd snort mountains of kettamine. I would have died if I remained any longer. Quite a few of my friends did.

32 and I have about 50k net worth.
Lost several years on the college meme, and post-2007 my industry was in ruins. Lost several more years on below legal wage internships, then several more believing I was climbing the ladder. Lost what little I managed to save due to illness and discovering the euro tax safety net doesn't exist for young men. Another few years to change industries and now I'm in an ok spot.
Most men our age had our start in the recession and then were forced to sit out the lost decade that followed. I don't know many guys my age who aren't a wreck.
I'm optimistic though since I managed to start again and get a good job and am making 112k USD a year now. I'm basically at the same level as 22 year olds, but as long as I keep saving hard and my investments do ok I should be able to quit waging at 42 or so. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs so I don't expect to be a broken husk of health issues at that point either.

I expect the young guys who graduated this year face a similar fate.

Yo I was a drink/drug addled idiot with a death wish in my 20's. I hated the world. I hated people. I wanted nothing more than to be obliterated and ideally to die before the consequences of my actions caught up with me. Some very close near death overdoses later and I realise that everything that I enjoy is within the physical realm and drugs are keeping me from it. That I'm too much of a coward to kill myself and I should stop fucking around and either get on with dying or get on with living. That if I am to live then I should be good at it. Luckily I met a guy on the come down from about 18 months of taking acid every week and explained my world view to him and we started a company. It has been 5 years and we employ 18 people. I own a 180k house which is now paid for, two cars and I've no debt. I've been in a relationship for the last 3 years and we've recently had a baby boy. I've 15k in the stock market, 5k in crypto and a private pension. I'm 33 and never thought it'd turn around like this. It’s best to have both a Roth IRA and traditional 401k. It will give you tax planning options at retirement. There’s so many ways to Jew the IRS if you’ve planned well for retirement.

For example, qualified Roth IRA withdrawals don’t count against MAGI. If you keep your MAGI low enough, you can qualify for Obamacare subsidies and retire at 59.5 instead of waiting for Medicare at 65.

Also Roth withdrawals help keep your income low for not having taxable Social Security.

Basically you want to keep your taxable income low in retirement so you can withdraw Trad 401k money at low marginal rates and Roth withdrawals don’t count against your taxable income.

I don't know, anon. I don't even have the chance to try any other venues of life being stuck at work for 8 hours every day. What can you do with 5 hours of free time a day, and the weekend?
Seems to me like working fulltime doesn't allow for much else happening on the side. If I worked half the year and took the other off maybe at least I could figure out that there isn't anything else for me. Now I can only wonder what the other part of society does with their free time.

my netwealth is awesome at 34 but not enough cash. only now after fucking student loans and getting enough equity to refi and lower interest rate and payments to a comfy level, do i have a joint cash investing account with my wife. goal is at least 1 mil to net 60k/year from an 8% dividend etf. this is the bare minimum to retire. only at 41k. gotta wage cuck for at least 8 more years.

shit will be on easy mode in mid 40s but i feel like my soul will be sucked by then. i dont even mind working, just what i have to do to make wage cucking worth it.

thanks for reading my blog

What are you hoping to get out of your trip?
I've been pondering about traveling as well, as you said I can certainly afford it. With 5 weeks off from work a year, a month should be a good duration trip to dip my toes in another country / the traveling meme without changing anything about my life / job. Though I'm not so sure even why. I haven't explored much of my own country, so I'd probably start at home, but I'm basically just sightseeing.. Is that really so fulfilling..?

Quit drinking and cigarettes. I occasionally vape and I guess I occasionally smoke pot, but I live in a state where it's legal. Doesn't do much for me, but I'd be lying if I said it hadn't happened recently.

If you can take a few weeks off, do it in a different country and put things on full blast. Worst comes to worst you lose a few thousand, just stop being a pussy and overthinking everything.

$23K cash? what do you need that much for? Even buying fucking bonds would increase in value more than that much money just sitting in your account for no reason. what are the chances you'll ever need more than 10K cash even in an emergency scenario? Not gonna make it, but I havent made it either bro so no worries
