I'm fucking sick of the LARPs. I've held LINK since ICO, participated in all major threads, created some memes, have seen the breadcrumbs. For a while I really thought we were going to make it. Just counting the days until financial freedom. This is a war of attrition and I've fucking lost. Nobody is getting rich from this shit. It really was just a meme built on countless contingencies. My crypto portfolio has withered away to nothing. 99% of my net worth is tied up in a 50k LINK stack. I have nothing else to subsist on. Bills are piling up, as I'm a former NEET turned uni student. Life really fucking sucks right now. Every time I think of Sergey or Rory or Thomas or any of those fags I just want to grab them by the throat and end it all. These fucking shitheads are literally playing with us at this point. 50k Link Master here...just sit back, relax, and get used to the misery. It was insufferable at first, and you eventually grow numb.

Your portfolio slowly flucutuates upward until it seems to remain above certain thresholds indefinitely. For example, I remember having $50k (then $25k and feeling miserable). I distinctly first having over $75k around the time of Mainnet and felt like a genius. Then when Google came out, my god, I was right, a genius all along.

Then I lost half my money and realized "what a fucking idiot, I've lost more money than I could make in 10 years."

Then this year, I seemed to stay safely in the 6 figure range. Then, by the stroke of some miracle, I was, for a brief moment, a millionaire at one point this year. I feel like I safely have at least $400k at this point and, at this point, feel very little at the though of losing $500k potential profits.

I believe there are only two existing possibilities at this point:

A) Chainlink is an elaborate ruse, the likes of which can be compared to Enron or Theranos

or

B) Chainlink is a necessary piece of the technological infrastructure that will underpin the world economic engine's upgrade/better integration with the internet.

To me, at this point in time, option B still seems more probable to me based on the information I have been able to gather over the past three years. Until the probability starts to majorly decrease, I will continue to hold my Chainlink tokens.

Despite devoting a significant portion of my mental effort over the past three years toward researching and staying abreast of Chainlink (and the systems developing around it), I can say that "The Truth" has not made itself completely clear to me. Only a probability that encourages my continued belief that I am invested in people that have the potential and network to create something important and valuable. Very, very few people in the world have held since ICO and I doubt any of them are on biz right now because of how wealthy they currently are and likely busy.

If OP held since ICO, he would be a crypto-visionary with the necessary knowledge and funds to have networked his way into a $250k Ethereum-based acquisition of Chainlink during a very small window of opportunity.

Assuming he didn't have the $250k himself and was able to convince others to allow him into a group purchase by contributing $25k, and he has held half of his stack since then, he'd have over $1M liquid right now, plus whatever he sold the other half of his stack for along the way.

Jus to give an idea of all of these "ICO holders." I remember threads from "ICO holders" in 2018, and I can tell you that those people had an understanding of economics, finance, and the software governing them well beyond anyone currently shitposting here. I learned a lot from them and built the foundations that helped me develop my own probability that "Option B" from above is more likely.

For me, the "research phase" will never end, and I don't believe it will end for anyone truly interested in the project since Chainlink, by nature, is a Research-driven project (see Chainlink Labs). They are creating a dynamic system for a dynamic world, so if you feel "100% sure" that Chainlink is going to reach a level of utility and innovation as has been speculated, then you're just a typical lucky idiot. I have felt like this little frog so many times over the past three years, including Christmas Eve of this year when my father implored that I sell at least 90% of my stack after incredulously realizing that I have over $500k USD value and had $1M earlier in the year.

Yes, it goes without saying that I don’t think it’s just 100% guaranteed that LINK will be this amazing project like we all want it to be. There’s still a ton of potential risks and issues that could happen, speaking completely seriously and not just shitposting. But with that said, I think the team have proven that they’ve made significant progress over the years, they’ve reached some significant milestones, they’ve made good strategic decisions (e.g. bringing Ari to lead Chainlink Labs) and they’re by far the most professionally run project in the entire crypto space (I realize that isn’t saying much). Nothing has happened in the last 6 months to make me think anything has actually changed for the worse with the project.

It’s too bad that it’s hard to have any serious conversations about LINK anymore because I still enjoy it, but /biz/ has been completely unusable for quite a while now.

Threads like this are a bit disingenuous as we are clearly in a pretty decently established downward trend for a few months now and I don't think anyone is in immediate danger of missing out on a Link run as most of the short-minded idiots that got us to $20 in the first place are fleeing Link to chase BTC and shitcoins that are mooning now. If we stay above $8 through January, I'll be rock solid for the subsequent 22 months after which I think I'll be a multi millionaire.
