Is /biz/ really just frequented by people with paper hands? My portfolio is 100% ETH and I'm gonna sell in 5 years minimum. Nothing can beat the comfiness of just hodling a coin you truly believe will still be relevant in 10 years. Just keep arguing about what the next best scamcoin is and chasing the 10x while I'm sitting here all comfy with my ETH and coming out ahead of 95% of /biz/ in the end.

when a company that produces shitty cars is valued more than all of the competition combined and already appreciated in value over 600% this year alone - you might not know where it's going next (sure, it can x2, not saying it's impossible) but what I know is that in a situation like this the risk is far greater than the potential reward to the point where it's basically gambling

>> No.25104104

I agree with you when it comes to TSLA. However, ETH's competitor has 6 times the market cap while being based on a very shitty technology supporting 3 transactions per second. It's BTC which is overpriced, not ETH. Also, 600% appreciation in value means nothing in crypto. BTC was under $1k not very long ago. People were yelling "muh overpriced" at that point already.

What if you'll wait a year for the better entry point and miss another 3x? Today we're seeing a 7% dip. Is this a good entry point?
The point is I know that I can't time the market, so I just hodl and try to get out of the habit of looking at the ETH/USD price every day.

Wrapped Bitcoin is evidence that ETH will eventually flip BTC in market cap. Look at the premiums institutions are paying to hold Grayscale ETHE vs. Grayscale GBTC. 3x the transaction fees daily vs. Bitcoin. There is utility on Ethereum that BTC doesn't have, that's why people move Bitcoin to ETH. The application layer in tech is always more valuable than the base layer.

all i think it's evidence of is that crypto is manipulated garbage filled will gullible people who thinks tether is backed by anything and that wrapped bitcoins is wrapped by anything

these garbage tokens have more value than the ETH used to "hold" them (quotation marks because they dont exist)

there really is zero need to have anything else other than BTC (though the devs are retarded over there so it should be BCH which can be used as money but that will never happen and all that bitcoin have is hype and manipulation).

a "wrapped bitcoin" is the worst thing i've ever seen in crypto, holy shit

True, but isn't BCH pretty much just BTC with blocks which are 8 times as large? That doesn't solve the problem of scalability, it just defers it. If BCH gets 8 times as many users as BTC has now (which can happen very fast; who actually uses BTC for buying stuff nowadays?) it's going to be just like BTC.

BCH have 32 MB blocks and Schnorr signatures, which means the transactions are smaller.
that buys a very long time to find a way to implement unlimited blocks, which they are working on. contrary to popular belief 32 MB per 10 min on average is just fine for modern internet connections and 32 MB also verifies quite quickly, especially since BCH have implemented ordered transactions in their blocks.
BSV successfully implemented unlimited blocks, though personally i don't really trust that their implementation is reliable.
btw funny that BTC have been talking about supporting Schnorr for years and BCH beat them to it.
