It’s been more than 10 years since it was created..

Aside from being a store of value are there any other use cases around it?

Seems like a lot of big names are jumping on it lately even saw Elon Musk tweeting Bitcoin & Dogecoin lately:

enjoy your 30 minute transactions

Yeah, Elon Musk was inquiring about converting “large transactions” of Tesla’s balance sheet into Bitcoin with Michael Saylor. Side note here, I’m pretty amazed at how many financial outlets are covering Elon Musk Tweets as headlines (Bloomberg, Reuters, Times, etc.) No wonder $Tesla stock is on top!!!!!!!

I’m just curious as to why it took more than 10 years? Aren’t Bitcoin Devs some of the most brilliant and sophisticated developer there is?……..

If they wanted adoption, they could have built all these things sooner rather than later.

IMO, Bitcoin is a new asset class and it probably takes time for various stakeholders(Bitcoin Dev, Technologist, Economist, etc) to understand the underlying value that Bitcoin is bringing to the table. Not to mention in recent years, it coincides with quantitative easing that governments around the world are doing, Bitcoin’s characteristics(Sound Money) makes even more sense, thus making Bitcoin the legit competitor to be the settlement protocol of the digital economy

Yea, definitely with QE it makes adopting Bitcoin a lot more sensible. I agree.

However, what I cant wrap my head around is that, to transact / move Bitcoin it costs $5 and upwards. Its insane!

Just wondering do we have any solution to this?

Also another thought about Bitcoin. With QE ongoing, we'll see people use Bitcoin as a Store of Value, but are there any ways we can unlock this value?? Just so that there will be some use cases towards Bitcoin.

What does ethereum have for future? What does it promising with Solidity that has numerous bugs and access problems? What will do Ethereum when Web 3.0 integrated in real life? Still gonna create smart contracts that explode tokens? Or will other token creators create tokens with food names and take them to zero satoshi?

Those are some legitimate points that you’ve raised.

Transacting over the Bitcoin network is costly, and that is a feature not a bug IMO. The Bitcoin network was created with security in mind, and not scalability.

Projects like the lightning network is allowing Bitcoin to be transacted/moved at a very minimal fee, which greatly enhances the use case of Bitcoin.

On the other point where you’ve raised on it Bitcoin as any other use case. Stacks 2.0 is going main net on 14th Jan, which brings scalability and smart contract capabilities(Clarity language) to the Bitcoin network through proof-of-transfer mechanism. Which allows more complex applications to be built on top of stacks blockchain, anchored and secured by the Bitcoin network.

This interplay between Bitcoin and stacks allows for greater applications to leverage on bitcoin’s security and also to tap on the huge pool of capital that’s currently locked in Bitcoin to build a more vibrant ecosystem.

I wouldn't worry about 30 minute transactions and high fees with STX and BTC, although it would be anchored to btc, STX would support micro payments and minimal tx fees. Also mainnet goes live on 14th Jan
