This job is very, very easy... Now what should I do from here? Should I study python, and try to move into software development and become a code monkey?

Should I try to move into IT sales? or maybe try to get a government gig?

If there are any anons in the IT world, please let me know what a good route would be...

I’ve heard becoming a SAP “developer” or Salesforce admin is pretty comfy.

I like my current gig. It’s work from home, (for now). I think I would like to get a job where WFH is pernament... as it is nice to not have to deal with an office / cubical.

I have a connection that could get me a job as a Jr. Dev in python, if I learn some basic python coding... Is that my best option?

Basically, I want to enjoy life, and accumulate LINK, so I’d like anons opinions on if it is “worth it” giving up a super comfy job, to make more money...

They way to grow is to spend your side time cultivating a side gig
So start knocking doors and offering your skills to local business.

You will either get hired and start bringing in side money or they will tell you they dont need you.

And if they don't need you? Ask them what they do need. Almost all will tell you.

Then come back in a month after you cultivate that skill.

Rinse repeat.

Pic related is the view from my home office.

I make 125k from home salary and have side gigs.

do you live in bumfuck nowhere, anon? I make $45k and I'm basically at help desk level of IT.

Oof no, not bumfuck, a “lowish” cost of living city, but it’s definitely a city.....

This is my 1st job out of college, and that’s my title, but my responsibilities are super basic. Some Cisco Call Manager work, troubleshooting phones and PC’s lol...

Not sure how I ended up doing this desu. Started college as an accounting major...

IT is harder to make the big stonks unless you move into an SRE role. That is what I would recommend, learn devops, learn cloud systems etc etc. Those fuckers make COIN.
I'm just a shitty swe and make ~150k when my peers doing ops get min 200k. I hate staring at linux terms though, way too autism.

Network security is basically a no-brainer. Those jobs are so in demand it's outrageous. Should be a solid career for a long time too.

Coding is a completely different skillset. Pays very well though and is the future. Watch a few YouTube videos on HTML/CSS/JavaScript to see if you have the mind for it.

No offence anon, but that view is kinda flat. Maybe needs some trees and shit to break it up.

Since when do dev ops people make more than real devs

Exactly, I think I’ll just build little python projects while at work and see if I can do it, and how much it sucks or not...

>>25075673
Exactly, security is such a “buzz word” now, might venture into something like that. I’m an american citizen so I could probably get a Sec clerance...

Also going to just code at work, if I can do it great, if not, no big deal.

My Exit Strategy is LINK, and becoming a landlord...

Learn AI and automation otherwise the robits coming for your job unless you're mostly into hardware/fiber.

I've worked in cleared jobs before anon and you really don't want to do it. Way too much bureacracy (six forms to get a pen) and the people are all boomer lifers. Work at big tech, and you will be racking up in no time.
