For those of you saying you can’t help pump a big stock like MCD I think you are wrong. I have generated tons of revenue for McDonalds this past year. Not only my personal purchases but I convince a lot of people to grab McDonald’s. I see it as another small investment when I show up to a friends house with a bag of mcdoubles and fries. It really can get people hooked if you bring them a McDouble every once in a while. I find that that person eventually starts picking up some mcdoubles of their own. I’ve even dropped money to showcase Uber eats and how easy it is to get McDonald’s delivered to your house. I’ll never stop selling cheeseburgers to the masses. It’s such a cheap habit so there’s a lot of potential addicts out there. Usually they also smoke cigarettes so naturally stack MO for the dividend

BioCryst went out of its way to underscore the fact that the clinical trial evaluating galidesivir wasn't designed to show efficacy in treating COVID-19 patients. The focus of the study was on safety. On that count, the experimental drug appeared to fare pretty well.

Regardless of what the study was designed to measure, though, there's always some expectation that efficacy will be demonstrated. However, BioCryst said that no efficacy benefit was observed with galidesivir compared to placebo. NIAID isn't likely to want to pour more money into an indication for which no efficacy promise was shown.

That doesn't mean it's the end of the road for the antiviral candidate, though. BioCryst thinks that NIAID will likely continue funding galidesivir with a focus on biodefense threats including Marburg virus disease.

BioCryst is talking with NIAID about potential next steps for the galidesivir program. The more important potential catalyst for the biotech stock over the near term, though, is its U.S. launch of Orladeyo (berotralstat) in treating hereditary angioedema (HAE). BioCryst anticipates that its HAE drug could achieve peak annual sales of more than $500 million.

It's all about foreign countries and emerging markets and their demand for USG bonds/USD. Were the reserve currency so they spend their reserves to stimulate their economy without inflation.

it's just a position sizing thing, you can't all-in on a VXX short but you can put some money in when the VIX gets to certain values (usually 40+) with maybe the option to average up a couple of times, but overall just be able to handle if the VXX gets to like 70-80 and you'll be fine.

literally the only times that has happened has been 2008 and 2020. it's incredibly rare and really not hard to handle with proper position sizing. beyond that you just hodl because it's literally rigged to always go down forever because of incontango and because volatility is a mean-reverting phenomenon that can never ever stay high for long. as long as you do that it's literally free money but it won't make you rich unless you have a ton of capital because you can only use a small percentage of your capital to do it safely.
