No, Ledger Live will still function, it will just not be updated anymore, which makes it less secure to use as time goes on. Same goes for the firmware updates for the wallet itself.

If I was a scammer I'd look for worthy targets and then do a social engineering attack where I take over their phone number from their phone provider.

Alternatively, they will be targeted for individual raids if they flexed too much of their money (even in 1st world countries)
