if you buy anything for long-term now you will probably:
a) need 4 years to break even and start making gains if you buy BTC or ETH
b) end up losing all your money if you buy into smaller projects that will be dead in 4 years
do yourself a favor and don't buy anything for long-term hold while prices are this high, it's still ok to swing trade while we wait to see where the top is but chances are that if you don't take profits at the right time you'll just panic sell on the way down later on

I heard about Bitcoin in 2011 and didn't buy because I thought while it's a nice experiment, it will never really take off. I won't make the same mistake again. I'm convinced a lot of projects which are small now will be huge in the future.
