The death of a backhoe operator who worked at the Córrego do Feijão mine in Brumadinho (MG) caused the city government to suspend the operating license and location of Valee and its contractors in the municipality. The measure was published on Saturday, 19 extra edition of the Official Gazette of the city.

After doing a LOT more digging (and someone please link it if you can find evidence to the contrary) the Córrego do Feijão mine located near Brumadinho is not / has not ever been expected to resume operations and produce iron again

I cannot find anything either in VALE's investing documents or anywhere online indicating that the Córrego do Feijão mine is/was expected to be producing ore ever again
As such, this event may be an even bigger nothing burger than I originally thought, since the production of iron isn’t affected whatsoever
It doesn't matter if VALE had their license suspended to do maintenance at a dead mine.
I had originally posted that this would result in 7 million tons less iron - I was very wrong about this - that's the Samarco mine near Minas Gerais (which is currently getting up and running)

There still might be a sell-off on Monday pre-market as this news will take time to reach foreign investors - but I would not worry or panic sell. If it does dip - buy the dip. The fundamentals have not changed

That is not what a deflationary currency is. Anytime some idiot accidentally wipes/loses/destroys a hard drive that is bitcoin that is gone forever from the 22 million total. This compounded with diminishing mining rewards creates a problem where the supply will inevitably only go down well before all bitcoins are ever mined. This will mean fewer bitcoins per chunk of dollars. No one will EVER want to sell their bitcoins for anything.
This is like, again, using the paintings of Michaelangelo as a currency. Finite, possibly only decreasing from fires, theft, etc. Why buy a house with one now when conceivably you could buy 3 houses with it 30 years from now?
