2497690 No.2497690 [Reply] [Original]

Richfag here. Well, relatively... I'm worth roughly $5m. Of which I have about 3.2M invested in the stock market and commercial real estate. The rest is in my home, cash, and a couple stupid cars.

I have a few rich friends that have made a killing over the last few months in Eth and ltc. I want to get into it.

I threw $5000 into ltc at $47 yesterday... Thinking it was relatively low and has potential to gain like btc did up into the 2000+ zone. I'm currently using coinbase and am limited by transaction limits. I also downloaded bitfinex but its totally fucking confusing.

My question is... What apps/sites should I be using? What strategies? I'd love to day trade for large amounts at small margins as well as buy and hold shitcoins that could potentially go 100-1000x. I need to be able to buy and sell and transfer quickly so as not to be stuck on a particular coin's value. For example, I bought 5k of ltc yesterday at 47 and I won't see it for a week... Therefore I can't do anything with it until then and have to suffer the market volatility with my hands tied. Any thoughts? Tips? What would you do if you were in my situation? 5-9% returns in safe investments are great and all, but I want to gamble a bit...

Pic related... $300k in cash I used to buy a car from my friend

I'll help you out but it'll cost $300k in cash.

use bittrex as your exchange, its probably the top tier crypto exchange.
Its pretty fucked up buying btc right now from the huge volume and most these shit sites like coinbase cant seem to keep their services up.
But this shit is pretty much like the stock market, theres tons of penny tier coins, the best thing to do is search up the coin youre looking at before you buy alot, see what the website looks like and the coins roadmap, if the tech and vision looks gud buy.
And come to biz once in a while to see if dudes are shilling unknown coins.
Do an anon a favor and hook up some of that ltc;

I don't even know how to sell or transfer... I'm a nerd and a tech guy, but this is uncharted territory for me. Totally lost. So I need to create a bittrex account and figure out my wallet address and send currency to it with coin base? Does bittrex support a lot of different coins? I can use it to buy and sell and trade? For example if one coin surges and I want to get out, I can use bittrex to convert into a more stable coin and then eventually turn it back into USD?

gemini (the winklevoss exchange), no limits on wire transfers but their verification process takes a couple of weeks. I don't think the other anons understand the volumes of fiat you're looking at.

I feel like you're underestimating the volatility of the crypto market though. I would not have bought LTC @ 47, it's due for a correction. the market is saturated with alts currently so there's not a lot of safe coins right. LTC getting to 2k is also fairly unrealistic because there's a 50M supply of LTC and it's technically inferior to ETH, but there's only a 16M supply of BTC which is why that gets so high. ETH will go up to a total supply of ~100M over the next few decades (at 92M currently). my LONG term target is ~$1000 on ETH, but that's years down the road and also assumes bitcoin maintains its state of disarray with the network scaling debate.

Here's the thing, though... I think this market is just beginning. I'd say roughly 1% of the population is currently investing in these currencies... Once it goes more and more mainstream and normies get involved, values are going to skyrocket. Look at the stock market's history over 70 years... There's always a new ceiling

Just take a gander at the crypto general (where ever it is) and look at some links talking about crypto. Listen to /biz/relis to get leads and then do research and follow your heart. I'll give a quick rundown anyways:

Typically, you'll wanna go to coinbase, ENABLE 2FA AUTHENTICATION (cause you're rich) and buy from there. Get bitcoin, cause it's relatively low right now and then send that to bittrex or poloniex. 2FA auth those accounts and buy coins you think will make it. Hold until moon, then sell.

This may take a day, it may take weeks, or months. You may lose money if you invest in coins that have a shit team, or FUD. Start small, learn how to not lose all your money, and put more chips on the table as you learn to count the cards.

Remind yourself that money doesn't come out of thin air, people lose just as much as people gain. Everybody on this board is ultimately out of profit, so be smart alright? The most important thing you don't forget is Do Your Research. Good luck man, hope you strike it rich.

Roughly 1%? Are you retarded? Do you think 75 million people are trading crypto? There's like 15-20 million bitcoin wallets. Most people use at least two wallets (one for exchange, one for storage), but more likely you have owned 3-4 wallets, so that's under 7 million people just on bitcoin. Since there's literally no one who owns altcoins without owning or having owned bitcoin, there is no way there are over 7 million crypto users period.

We should really have a sticky.
It all depends on what you plan on doing... Anyway...
Suggestions:
- ICOs are usually really profitable. Look into the upcoming ones, read their whitepaper and see if the technology seems sound. There's an upcoming one that has -a lot- of potential that has flown under /biz/'s radar.
- Look at low value coins (sub 100 satoshi) and what they are trying to do... some have potential. But don't fall for the memes.
- Learn how to read all those damn graphs... investopedia is a good source. Buying at ATH with a dwindling volume is often a bad idea, for example... learn how you can get this type of info. But don't fall for technical analysis (TA)... most of it is bullshit.
- Other than that, there are some more expensive (and older) coins that have the potential of significantly increasing in value: XRP, ARK, STRATIS, FACTOM, etc. (If I had some money left I'd probably get me some factom).
- Don't listen to /biz/

To be completely transparent, 70% of my portfolio is XRP, 10% SIA, 10% STRATIS and 5% ARK. The rest are semi-shitcoins (RDD, ESP2). I don't day trade.

I hope this helps.

depending on how much do you want to deposit kraken it's the best option if u wanna gamble 50/100k plus there is kraken dark pool where you can trade btc over the counter and they will match orders. (remember orders must be 50btc + so selling and buying you won't affect market price). Regarding how to invest i've spent a lot of time doing some research and i've found many good coins which will make me 5X/10X each in a couple of months i believe, if you wanna learn more just hit me back and we can discuss in private about those. At the moment i'm making advisory for a friend of mine and he made 300% return in a week starting with 4 btc ( he has many other assets so those 4 btc are like 2% of his wealth)

I asked at my work (psychologist) on friday at lunch what people thought about ethereum and no one knew what the fuck I was talking about.

This is still far from main stream. Good youtube channels on crypto topics get like 3-5k views. Normies dont know shit and even if they start knowing about it, its a big hurdle for them to get into the business with wallets and exchanges.

Values are super low compared to what they will become in the future. Gold rush has barely started. The only question for us who know that is to find the projects that will rise to the top AND have tokens that will have actual value/utility (why tokens like STEEM are shit even though steem as a website will probably get big).

Please don't listen to these shills, the only legitimate coins are bitcoin, ethereum and ripple. BTW I am a ripple shill, but I just want to let you know that ripple is backed by 75+ banks, a16z, google ventures and the like. Essentially what they are trying to do is create liquidity for inefficient currency pairs and make intrabank transfers and cross border settlements easier by removing trust lines and counter party risk with the native token, XRP. If you want to invest in stuff like litecoin and all this stuff and make huge short term profits, that is your decision. But if you are actually looking for a legitimate solid long term hold then the only one I would say for you is bitcoin, ripple, and to a lesser extent ethereum.

I know I sound like a beggar neet but I'm just a 17 year old dude that missed out on 50k because all these stupid ass exchanges require you to be 18 or give so much damn documentation, and by the time I bought I missed out on buying XRP at 0.03. Sorry for the shameless plug man, but I thought I would give it a try, my parents are planning to kick me out at 18 and I literally put every dime I have into xrp, planning to go to university if this shit ever moons. Very pathetic for to post my addresses, but you miss all the shots you don't take haha.

You are the retard, friend. Why does it matter if a shit-coin is openly traded if it has no use for a normal person? The coin has no fucking value, its only a tool for bank transactions that the banks will use. The only possible way this could have an actual value is if the supply was short and the banks wanted to buy them off the hands of private persons. But thats never going to happen. If it somehow gets so popular that they dont have enough, they will hard fork it, because THEY DONT NEED A COMMUNITY when they work directly with banks.

Fucking ripple shills being intentionally obtuse.

Are you just an underaged retard or a dumb nigger? or both?
Even if 10% of the banking system adopts ripple system and only 1% will be using xrp, its price needs to be over $2 to handle the load. Also ripple literally gives xrp to banks for free right now.
You are just a fucking basement idiot parroting shit you read somewhere, no need to embarrass yourself further with replies.

Well thanks for being here. And thank you for getting into crypto, I guess another whale would be interesting. Check out RDD while you're at it. There are plenty of people that shill it and want to make it work. I'm somewhat of a believer in it. I'm also holding BAT because I believe the technology will change the world of advertising.

At the end of the day man, it's the same way as all investing, except that everything's on fire and the volatility is crazy.

I hope you enjoy yourself here, oh and a few websites to toss you to buy Bitcoins with fiat.

Gemini, Kraken, Coinbase

Then for your traders you've got NovaExchange and Bittrex.

I use Coinbase and Bittrex, would use Gemini but they aren't covered in my state. Also Kraken has been taking FOREVER to verify your account to buy BTC with fiat.

Oh and a few more tips, people have shill groups in discord, get in a few of those and just kinda hear the news.

If I can help you any other way let me know brother.

Oh, and please for the love of christ enable 2FA, it's quick and painless. Too many retards losing money over this kind of simple shit.

And yeah, probably just someone who just jealous he hasn't made his cryptomillions yet.

Also I recommend playing it safe before going all gung-ho on this situation. Pick a few coins 3-5 and moderate them for a period of time. Watching news, join their slack, they often have dev only and investor based slacks, a discord fan group if you can find one. twitter feeds(use tweetdeck for optimizing this), and lurk threads.

I hope this helps you, any other questions I'll check this thread tomorrow and respond, otherwise and if I don't get to you fast enough I'll post a new thread tomorrow at 9:00 AM CST and title it "In response to yesterday". G'night.

2fa is already enabled on bittrex.

I like the sound of xrp. I'm thinking I'll probably end up with some in my portfolio. Last I checked, it was trading around $.30 and there's quite a bit of buzz.

I guess I'll stick to poloniex and bittrex for trading and use coin base to cash in and out. Is it true that bittrex to coin base transactions are sketchy? I plan to dump the majority of $100k into btc, ltc, eth, xrp and play the long game to start. I may mess around with some more risky coins after I have more time to research and familiarize myself with everything.

Thanks to all those that have helped.

Looks like you got tons of responses. Congrats on getting rich, I want to do the same.

As for purchasing, you can try to seek out a local vendor, google local bitcoins, you might actually be able to meet someone in person and perform the transaction in front of you. But for most people the choice is gonna be Kraken or Coinbase. Just make an account and start sending them the info until you are verified. I gave them my bank and a photo of my ID. Scary but there is no other way.

Then just buy. Even with full verification, I think you can only purchase $10k per week max. But I have heard others say that if you contact the exchange directly you may be able to work something out where you can purchase a larger amount.

As for the future, it's the same as that speech by McCaunaghey in the opening of WOWS. Nobody knows what the market is gonna do. We place out bets.

I think BTC and ETH are both solid. Litecoin shows promise. Strat and Ark both look good to me.

Lots of garbage that gets pumped though. Look at trumpcoin. I think Bitbean is a joke too.

Once you have your coinbase account setup, then sent BTC to your BTC address on Polo. Then you can trade your ass off. Get some experience for a few weeks before you start getting brave.

Oh and here's my BTC address if you feel like being generous...
