CNBC fast money type of crypto reporting I see as more of a symptom rather than a cause. pretty much anyone new to crypto who doesn't understand it is attracted to the low relative cost of 1 altcoin compared to bitcoin (even though that's irrelevant). how do people find out how to buy bitcoin? they use google and more often than not end up on coinbase. coinbase buyers will drive prices up like they did in 2017
