No you get an account with the company and then can send your bitcoin to a private wallet later. Or you have the machine scan a QR code and it sends the BTC to that wallet. I've done both ways before I wised up and get on CB pro.

I don't swing and I mostly do large trades (ie, buying $1000s of crypto at a time) so the fees don't bother me. The ATMs charged 5 or more % per buy so the fees are fine. Also, when I signed up for CB Pro, they had no fees for maker so I didn't pay fees on most of my early buys anyway.

I'm not against using a different exchange but I'd only switch to an exchange that listed PNK so my taxes could be simpler. None of the exchanges in your picture are open to Americans and list PNK.
