Alright, so I decided to open my first exchange account, and I decided that coinbase seems like a good option since it's fairly simple and they also offer free 150$. However, while registering it asked me to provide a shitton of private information. Anyone here uses it? Should I be worried about it, since I don't want to have revenue services knocking on my door any time soon, or ever

Why the fuck do you expect a financial service NOT ask you about private information?

They require it as they’ll report you to the tax man

...Kraken holds a bank charter. Stop trying to avoid paying taxes. This isn't 2016. Crypto is main stream now, you will go to jail.

It's not even so much about avoiding taxes at this point, I just don't want to be tracked. So much for these anonymous currencies where you still have ID yourself and provide bank details at every step just to buy and exchange them

It's almost as if exchanges and marketplaces don't want to get BTFO by the SEC because you want to dodge the IRS.
