No matter how bad things get--- no matter how many die from the pandemic, how 3rd world-tier our healthcare becomes, how bad the economic inequality gets here, how bad our quality of life gets, how bad unemployment becomes, how bad the actual economy gets (not the stock market), or how many businesses close permanently from the shutdown--- as long as the US military is funded the way it is and can take and hold any other country in the world as well as secure the homeland and property, the US dollar will be the standard. I don't say that proudly, I just mean that the USD is the standard not because of any fact of our lives or economy, but rather because of the security of property demanded by US law and enforced by the US military. The country will burn and the dollar will still reign supreme.
