>they don't like when we talk about miners.

I love it, but am retarded and usually just lurk and absorb to avoid dragging the discussion down.

I've got some $12 strike SLV calls expiring Jan 15th, and expect trump to activate some black swan tier last ditch effort (or electors sent by the republican legislatures of the swing states in question to vote Trump) which would likely cause chaos in the markets. Dunno if I hope for a rush into commodities over the next month or just sell now.

Additionally, IceAgeFarmer has been on high alert regarding the "Cyber Polygon" WEF scheme to attack and shut down the power and communication grid, and with the state-level hacking tools having just been stolen in conjunction with 400+ of the fortune 500 corporations having been compromised by SolarWinds sending out a trojan it looks like numerous black swans are lining up and ready for deployment over the next month or 2. I dunno how to position, but with IBM being a partner/participant of the WEF Cyber Polygon exercise and having blockchain tech ready to address the major "cyberpandemic" maybe calls on IBM and puts on the infected and vulnerable Fortune 500s would be a promising play? Anyone been watching and thinking about this crap?

Yes good job. Youve done a really great job of gathering all the info here we preach pretty quickly. Yes. We love crypto. Never buy mining stocks. Gold and silver are good and all but nickel, copper, and aluminum are the best for physical holding. Aluminum you can actually get in sheet form from most retailers. No need to get it delivered, you can just go buy it from a local dealer. Usually its in the "cooking section".

Gold silver stocks...

I dunno who's memeing who now. Other anon was completely funposting if you couldn't tell.

For physical holding Silver and Gold obviously are best with silver poised for better gainz due to critical and growing industrial, tech and strategic demand this century, and with Tin due for an excellent bull run likely to move with Nickel as battery tech gains traction, I've been stacking cheap pewter (92+% tin) though that's more to satisfy autism and not really a viable or worthwhile option for most people. Haven't bothered looking for tin miners yet but it's on the to-do list. Some people fill basements with bank bags of nickels or sort out copper pennies but that's chump-tier for a wallstreeter.

Impact Silver and Dolly Varden are pretty solid junior silver stocks to look at. Maybe Irving Resources and Pure Gold Mining as junior gold stocks.

My man you must lurk moar.

>wtf is /pmg/?
Precious Metals General.
>so, dont buy miner stock? Got it
You're mistaken. Buy physical first for safety in case of hyper-inflation. Then learn about investing into miners and doing your due diligence on those by taking a look at the miner pastebin in the OP. And then you go hard into the best miners you can find!
>buy physical assets in gold and silver. Like, delivered to my house? (I'm fine with this, just need to confirm)
You can use the links in the OP for sites that offer delivery. Otherwise, there are bullion banks and if you're American there are also LCS (local coin shops) that you can simply walk into and buy/sell.
>ANY stocks I should buy involving Gold/Silver?
Good miners. Some like majors, some like juniors. I'm a junior guy but that means bigger risk/reward. There are a lot of recommended ones to look at but please, PLEASE do your own research and only invest in companies you understand (again check the pastebin for help on how to understand things related to miners)
>Isn't the idea if Gold explodes, Silver would too?
Yeah
>Assuming USD eventually crashes with other fiat currency and crypto becomes more of a staple, Gold will always be used to back it up and if Gold goes up, Silver should too correct? Thanks guys.

I'm still not into uranium yet, I have a few silver position I need to take until Feb. PTU isnt a obscure canadian pick, its an explorer funded mostly by two major, Cameco & Orano. Don't believe it, anon. It'll be full of ups and downs but the trend will continue upwards, it's basically inevitable.

Picked up 40 of pic related for £27.50, that's 0.48p/g silver. It's getting harder to acquire these cheaply, I never really bothered and kept stacking bigger coins. If SHTF though, it'll be good to have things for small transactions, and if not I'll sell them to numistafags anyway. I can't find cheap threepences any more for the life of me.

Basically this. I don't know shit about miners, but I learn reading this stuff and may invest. I've already been buying up cheap Oil stonks (lol BP do something, don't be dead, you can't be dead!) and could use a bit of diversification. I won't add my input if it's basically worthless. Posting from my computer now. I only sold 100 shares. Still hold 100. I thought about the potential gains I could get with PGM and came to the conclusion that I needed to put more money into ME instead, because that one has a lot to gain. Up about 50% with that stock now and I believe I'll get 100% of my initial investment by end of week at this pace. PGM I expect to maybe double or triple in half a year, and yes I'm also aware of the "8 Zone".

Sure I might be wrong and PGM might go up even more than that but for me my transactions today were a result of weighing an undervalued company to a fairly valued one, and I chose the undervalued one.

Think you missed my point guy. I was saying that the fundamentals are steong for physical gold and silver and I have no reason to cut bait and take losses unless we get to about june next year with nothing happening. If we get to june of next year with no gold and silver rush then its official. Clownworld has won. Up is down and down is up.

Ill still hold physical as my personal hedge but probably pull out of miners and go back into the fake manipulated bullshit fiat stocks at that point.

Basically one more time what im saying ks that FUNDAMENTALLY gold and silver have every reason to go up. If they dont, then everything is fucked. If we get to june next year and its still this crabbing bullshit then i think thats an official declaration that everything is fucked and that men can be women and niggers make great husbands.

Yeah sure why not. For every price increase/decrease there's always a buyer and a seller. There will be people who want to buy or hold and there will be people who want to sell. As for what I can get in exchange for mining stocks, I can sell those for cash at essentially any point in time I ever want to.

Physical is ultimately there for me if things get really rough and there's a total hyper-inflation. My stack is there to help me so that things will suck a little less. There will be suffering no matter what, I consider physical just a way to cushion the fall a little. By the way remember to stack canned food and toilet paper and stuff. Silver matters where I live a lot less because there's just no market for it like over there in the USA. If things get to a point where people begin bartering, gold and silver don't do me nearly as much good as good old necessities. Also, if a hyper-inflation ends up happening later rather than sooner it will be better to be in miners and taking profits, bullion doesn't give gains.

I agree he’s a prick but he’s also a strategic thinker and not afraid to think outside the box. Lot of things he does (that show portrays as bad decisions) actually make sense from a multi year sustainability perspective. He’s also mellowing out a bit, although I can wait for next week when he finds out his foreman was insubordinate. Again, the show is trying to make him look like a pedant for moving the washplant so much, but it makes sense if he’s using this mostly lost season (and govt aid) to try out this hyperactive movement strategy and see what breaks and how to make it work.
Similar long term thinking last year when he persisted on Beets ground. Made sense financially when you factor in bonuses to his crew etc, but the show never highlighted that angle.

Junk is a different thing because that’s anticipated to be used for barter, but the same applies. no problem, its a project thats going to take ages to get done anyway. Dont worry too much about understanding all aspects of VMS or these other deposit types either, you need a masters in geology to really get everything and even the full time geos I work with will have to go back to a text book at least once a week.

As for your image and how it relates to prospecting, it honestly doesnt mean much. Prospecting / exploration geology follows traces of ore or expected occurrences across all kinds of host rocks. This image is simply trying to explain how the different igneous rocks generally appear and the features of their formation. I can go into deeper detail on how some of these specific igneous rocks relate to where and how ore bodies form but it gets technical really fast.

>Dont worry too much about understanding all aspects of VMS or these other deposit types either, you need a masters in geology to really get everything and even the full time geos I work with will have to go back to a text book at least once a week.
Alright then. I'll just focus on the practical stuff and try to understand the grand scheme of things. Hopefully at the end of this project I'll have a good understanding of how things connect underground and how our geological machine works. Will be useful in researching miners too whenever I need to try and understand some more geological text.
>As for your image and how it relates to prospecting, it honestly doesnt mean much. Prospecting / exploration geology follows traces of ore or expected occurrences across all kinds of host rocks. This image is simply trying to explain how the different igneous rocks generally appear and the features of their formation.
Ah I see. So it's less about the rocks themselves and more about the formation of the deposits. I was thinking that it would be good to understand different rocks and their qualities because mineralization can be hosted in all kinds of different rocks and appear in different kinds of settings.
>I can go into deeper detail on how some of these specific igneous rocks relate to where and how ore bodies form but it gets technical really fast.
I'd be honored if you could do that. I probably won't understand most of what you explain but I'm still interested to see if I can learn something here.

give me a bit its bloody complicated and i want to make sure i write this out correctly.

You already understand the formation around porphyrys right? The porphyry i am most used to is a rhyolitic porphyry, its tan colored, with wide oval grains that grew as the volcanic fluids worked their way up the crust. On the contact boundary of the porphyry you will often find a burned or brecciated contact, as this is where the molten fluids / magma worked their way through the local host rock. With a brecciated contact you often get the dogs breakfast of mineralization due to the material breaking off at one temperature / pressure zone and than being transported and cooling in another as the fluid works its way up. This usually causes all sorts of fun alterations and secondary structures which is their own subject, but this is the important area where the metallic rich silica / water fluid breach out from the porphyry and start making the secondary mineral deposits such as epithermals or other vms. If the host rock the porphyry is working its way through is composed of limestones or marbles you often end up with Skarn style mineralization, or if your local host rock is less altered sedimentaries you will often get quartz stockworks or massive veining making their way up following faults and fractures. You can get all sorts of different secondary mineralization on this contact and thats what were looking for as prospectors more often than not. We find one main structure and than work out from that looking for the associated geology. I can on and on about this sort of stuff, but honestly 911 metallurgist has written extensively on the subject and my deeper technical know how of this only goes so far. Read up from those sorts of sources and if you need any help i can generally break it down into layman terms.

Do mines generally wholesale to someone else who then refines it (which would make my task impossible I think) or will they mint their own custom bars with PGM or something on them. PGM will be pouring dore bars that will be sold to the canadian mint for refinement. This is standard practice in the industry, and very few companies retail their own concentrates or bullion anymore, back in the day you could buy assay bars from the weekly pours but no one does that anymore. You could ask them to send you a sample but i am not sure how willing they would be to do that. I ve asked companies for representative samples of ore before but their legal teams almost always decline. You have to know someone in the company now to get stuff like that.

>You already understand the formation around porphyrys right?
Basically yeah
>On the contact boundary of the porphyry you will often find a burned or brecciated contact, as this is where the molten fluids / magma worked their way through the local host rock.
So you look for breccia and dark, burned spots in the rhyolite when prospecting for a porphyry deposit, which would indicate that the host rock rhyolite could host a porphyry deposit.
So if you see breccia in rhyolite then mineralization is likely to occur elsewhere as epithermal deposits or VMS deposits for example, and would be a sign of a poor spot for porphyry? I'm not sure I understand this part.
>If the host rock the porphyry is working its way through is composed of limestones or marbles you often end up with Skarn style mineralization
Skarn mineralization is usually expensive to extract right?
>if your local host rock is less altered sedimentaries you will often get quartz stockworks or massive veining making their way up following faults and fractures
Okay so unaltered sedimentary rocks are good hosts in a porphyry deposit

Thank you for typing all of that out Pan Man. Will read 911metallurgist more too

sorry yes its a lot to understand at once, should have broken it down more.

A better example would be you find a lightly mineralized rhyolite exposed at surface, and a few hundred meters away theres a quartz outcrop with some mineralization going on. Inbetween those outcrops is likely a contact zone between the local host rock and the porphyry that intruded. Now say you drill down and you run into that alteration zone or breccia, now you can start understanding the shape of the structure better. Like I said its a really complicated subject that needs pages of explanation to come out correctly and like usual i am butchering it. Also when i say (burned) contact, its not always literally blackened or burned, its usually the physically melted rock where the super hot molten rock damaged the host rock. Its usually very metamorphosed or bent all out of shape.

Oh now this I understand perfectly. Makes a lot of sense. Obviously I know that this is just one "perfect" example and it's a lot more complicated than that, there are rocks all over the place after all and you're probably on the lookout for a whole host of things when you're out prospecting

There are some very few valuable Sacagawea dollars but the vast majority are worth their face value, $1. That will be the case with the Susan B. Anthony dollars, too. The Eisenhower dollars and JFK half dollars might be worth something because some of those were minted in an era where they had some silver. Again, you'll have to look it up. Oh shit I never thought big looking on jewtube I just trawled coin forum threads for info. Either way, good shit. Shame I can't do anything about these but they're such low content, no point it'd do nothing or make it worse. They'll stay as is.

Because i know youre not a jew and I know youre not a bad person, you're just confused and you dont feel like you can trust anybody because youve overdosed on redpills and we live in clownworld, where down is up and up is down and the media, government, and society will all tell you to think that way.
