In fact, pirating will still make you play their game, and fell some of their influence, even if you are shielded against it.
This could be prevented. I warned years ago that chromatic aberration and depth of field would distort the frontal cortex of players and open their minds to whatever suggestion the developers would come with.

gaming is dead, is has hit a wall quite a long ago. At this point it's just recycling and repeating of genres.

The companies who are capable of putting out good games are usually corporations and those who wan't to deliver good games are usually independent with low budgets.

Gamers are very gullible consumers. Think of it like this. An average NPC normie goes to buy some toaster from a brand. Toaster is broken or shit, they will return it and try to avoid that brand in the future. Gamer buys a game, its broken, they get hyped for the next game from the same company/studio and buy it anyways. They are mentally clinging so hard to the activity of gaming that they are willing to consume anything even if bad. They are mentally ill addicted junkies and the companies love it and expand on it.

Preordering? Who the fuck preorders something that is downloadable and in overflow? to get it 1 day earlier and get some irrelevant cosmetic or item? DLCs? Shit that should have been included in the main game anyways so it feel lacking or they just make some bullshit extra up that feels out of place.

Also notice the normification of gaming in the last years. They will just release more and more stuff for the average guy. Meaning less learning curve, dumbed down mechanics, focused more on story/movielike than gaming.

And if you think the rise of esports is good, no, just another vessel to market their mostly f2p games to get people to waste money on microtransactions. All this is just part of an invevitable future were there will be less work due to machines so you will end up having to accostume more people to consume like cattle.

If you like a (singleplayer) game pirate it. If its multiplayer try to buy it later on sale in a keyshop. Remember to just play for fun and never aim to tryhard, it will become a timewaste.

The game plays like a half finished GTA with the fallout 4 dialogue system with a bunch of deus ex skins on weapons vehicles buildings and characters with the ending choices of mass effect 3. No depth, no choices, just a hamfisted story with alot of glitches.

Witcher 3 wasn't even that great of a GAME, in the sense that the gameplay was really....meh, nothing groundbreaking. It's strength lied in how well-written and engaging the story, characters and settings were. I gain more enjoyment sitting back and watching a no-commentary let's play of Witcher 3 and its' DLC than actually playing it.
