Rich people invest their money to get more money, their investment creates jobs.

Lower taxes means that they can invest more which means they will create more jobs therefore “transfering” their wealth downstream

Simple explanation but I think you get it

this is a lie, i live here because my parents were born rich and so now my parents are rich so i was born rich. I do nothing all day and eat the greasiest food from my local subrural McDonalds every evening. i live the best life ever. so fuck you fuck niggers fuck jannies fuck kikes and fuck jews for trying to take my generational white-aryan money.

Housing

Rich people get everything by being rich

It’s the middle class that gets royally fucked over simply because you made good decisions in life and wasn’t a loser

>> No.24777502

Strongly disagree. In one generation, my family went from living in poverty in a steel-mill town to upper-middle class life with relative luxury, through nothing other than a liberal arts degree, a boring desk job, and middle management. America has opportunities for lifting yourself up that no other country on Earth has. That's not to say that there aren't issues with wealth inequality, but saying "there's no point living here if you're not rich" is completely blind to the realities of wealth and opportunity in the rest of the world.

I came here to post something about the middle class, specifically skilled labor, only being useful to propel you into the upper percentiles. That's where all the goodness is. Our tax/benefits structure is so broken that the middle class sits in this weird no man's land that all the policies meant to transfer wealth from the 1% apply to them as well while little of the benefits working poor and poor in general get do not.

People who fail in the United States amaze me. I make $78k a year in a rural area, which when adjusted for purchasing power is like $110k a year in Miami or someplace. I'll be making $87k next year. I graduated in May. People don't know how good they've got it here, even if it is under assault and not as good as it used to be. As an engineer I'd have maybe £20k take home salary if I worked in the UK lmfao

That's the problem

The US is full of opportunity, but everyone is constantly overthinking it instead of just rolling up their sleeves and starting to work.

Anyone could start a business. The entire US economy is structured to be able to give people a start. Unless you’ve behaved like a wild nigger with your credit, you can easily get an FHA loan to start investing in real estate.
You could also borrow money for a truck to start doing simple construction labor or handyman work.

Everyone always looks at the macro instead of jumping in to get while the getting is good. I borrowed 35k to get a truck and trailer when I started my concrete business.
I went to the offices of several property managers and asked them to call me if they needed any concrete work. People like seeing someone who is starting out and you’ll be surprised how much they want to help you.

I did 150k of work that first year and I had 60k cash free and clear after a year and a half. It’s very doable if you aren’t afraid to work hard.
That’s what trickle down really means. Waiting for gibs is pathetic

>We document long-term trends in intergenerational occupational mobility for US native-born men using population registers and survey data from 1850 to 2015. We find substantial declines in social mobility over the past 165 y. However, contrary to public perception, most of the decline happened to Americans born prior to 1900, rather than more recently, and was largely driven by the movement of children from farm to manufacturing sectors during industrialization.

I worked concrete every summer and then started my business after I finished school. I knew the basics about but not really anything about business. But I really didn’t use much of my concrete knowledge starting out. Most of what I did at first was just replacing squares of sidewalk at different locations that the property managers operated. You can charge at least $1500 for doing that and it only takes like $500 and a day to do it.

I ended up buying a skid loader because the dealership had 0% financing, and I was always renting one to load the concrete into a trailer.

The biggest success I had starting out was landing a parking lot replacement where I only had to provide labor and equipment. That ended up making like $45k for a few months of work. I had a full time helper and then just paid concrete guys I worked with under the table to help on the big days.

The biggest failure I had at the beginning was when a junkie stole a $15k saw I was renting. I was able to claim it on insurance, but it fucked with my rates. I’ve also had a handful of times where I had to tear something out and it ended up costing me money to do the job, which sucks.

My company was doing around $500k a year at around %30 profit, but I switched up to more excavating work. I got a good deal on a bull dozer, and now I’m grading out stone for concrete floors in warehouses, which is booming right now.

It’s stressful knowing that everything is on you at the end of the day, but I like the freedom.

I’ve been buying crypto this whole time, so If we get another big bull run, I’m gonna ease off the real work and just do a job or two every few months or maybe go to work for someone for the insurance.

Social mobility in the US is objectively one of the worst in the developed world. Statistically most people who start poor in the US remain poor at a far higher rate than most other developed countries.
