4chan isn't particularly dark net, however I found the experience of reading your thread description very pleasing.

I wouldn't ever admit browsing here, even in a funny way like that. Anonymity is too much of a double edged sword. If I ever got caught here I'd just say I'm mainly on /a/ and pretend to be a massive anime elitist. Most retarded political people glaze over when you start ranting about Daiz.

Tell him you have a decentralized network of research tools and if he pays you monthly you can share your findings. Then build a website and post your “monthly picks” and charge a subscription fee. If you get big enough, everything will pump just because you post about it.

It is not dark net in the conventional meaning of the word but it is close to a web 1.0 type of interface forum and combined with its culture and functionality, the concept is so intangible for an outsider to grasp that I find great utility in summing it all using that particular buzzword.

Nope, 4chan is solidly web 2.0 which is defined as user uploaded content. Myspace was also web 2.0. Blogs were like 1.5 if they had a comment section. The 1990s pepsi website was 1.0.

Modern social media internet is 3.0, where all the content is uploaded by users but the website restricts how you then interact with the uploaded media.

People don't realize that restrictions on posting for retards and malicious people also filter out the very few smart people on the internet. The ONLY place you'll be able to find smart people posting uncommon good info is the same place you'll find literal pajeets scamming and coomers doing their thing. Everything else is just midwits conforming to a filter to stroke their epeen.

i've been allin link since early 2018 and have been a major force in the shitposting effort back then. we used to try to connect chainlink directly to nazi and pedo memes and it worked to scare off reddit for a long time. i also remember looking up a computer science dictionary ebook and using random complex sounding terms to FUD chainlink kek. now multiply this by 100 and think how many normies can withstand the insane misinformation campaign and find out the gems of truth in between the literal scat, coom and gore posting

>> No.24775349

>>24773712
Absolutely. Upvote systems are the worst idea the cyberlibertarians came up, thanks to their delusions about "e-democracy" in the early 2000s. It's a system that, at its best, induces reversion to the mean (which, thanks to the Pareto principle, is practically guaranteed to be worthless), and at its worst, is a way for governments and corporations to manufacture consent through botting.
Funny thing is, companies back then were big into it because they wanted to "crowdsource" moderation so they could avoid hiring jannies, similar to how they're trying to implement AI now. Normies never change.

>> No.24776582

>>24776457
I don't really think there's a general realisation, at least in my social circle, no one knows about 4chan. They're all redditors. Imo 4chan has a few thousand contributors per board. Reddit has millions. I think we vastly overestimate our degree of awareness, which is a good thing desu

>> No.24776724

>>24776582
I'd agree with that
it's more amongst the hardcore redditors. Back in 2020 they would have been wholly incapable of seeing what is wrong with censorship of free speech, much more openly in favour of deplatforming, but it's become a lot more zeitgeist, especially this year

>> No.24776725

>>24776457
If there weren't excessive moderation on Reddit, it would need to be invented.

Most people dedicate a lot of brainpower to social consensus, acceptability, and hewing to standards. They'd be at a loss if forced to freely engage with heresy or ideas that no one else has prechewed for them.

Those normies will bring in ad dollars but are the polar opposite of guys named NateHiggers88 who read 100 page crypto white papers or analyze obscure virus outbreaks in central China.
