95% of crypto is just copy and pasted code and they make memes and pictures and a website and pretend to be revolutionary. You’ll see these coins pump in price, but they’re just suckers taking the bait and the scammers are selling massively during the pumps. It’s all pump and dumps and you’ll never see a 100x. Just buy link eth and btc or you will lose EVERYTHING here. Use Coinbase. You will neck yourself trying to trade. Even if you get a 20x coin, you’ll likely sell at 3x your money and look back in regret that you had enough of those coins to retire if you just held 6 months. The depression and self hatred from holding your own retirement and selling it too early is way worse than being late to the party. Imagine all those people who sold btc at 50c since they x5’d their money in 2011.
If you want to make it in crypto, make it a full time job to learn everything and read white papers. Or else just buy and forget and never check price. Don’t fall for the biz pump and dumps.

Most threads on /biz/ are legit Pajeet shitcoin scammers.

As far as cryptos go, just buy a little BTC, ETH and XRP every month. Cryptos are going up a lot lately, so they are absolutely worth investing in. Don't go nuts though, they should only represent a percentage of your portfolio, not most of it or even all of it.

Put a certain amount of cash toward an index fund (SPY) each paycheck. I do 500 a month. After that, I would consider putting something into Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Chainlink each month. You might also consider buying some of the major tech stocks which are likely to continue to go up in the coming years like Amazon, Facebook, and Apple.

Warren Buffet said something like "Don't try to make the genius move, just try not to make any stupid ones."

It's usually the sensible, conservative approach: but you can't be sure what the future holds for the market.

I think it might be a good idea to buy a few Big Tech and index funds, but I wouldn't but more than a percentage into them. You have to hedge against a severe downturn in the economy and IMHO the best way to do that is with commodities like precious metals, or companies that own/exploit commodities. That means miners, along with Big Ag because everyone needs to eat, stuff like Masonite International, maybe pharmaceutical companies.

But overall I wouldn't put more than 1/3 of my money in stocks ETFs and derivatives, the rest should go to actual physical precious metals, land, property etc.

>>24769447
i think i make a reasonable assumption that OP is quite young with a long time horizon and few obligations than himself to provide for. for this reason i'd argue against precious metals compared to riskier, higher yielding assets. ETFs seem a reasonable risk/reward ratio unless you're taking the fulfilling prophecies in Revelations seriously.

It's all but basic in our clownworld, it's the most undervalued and underinvested markets. Everybody is all in on big tech, real estate or shitcoins.
Commodities are the backbone of the economy, and they never have been this undervalued compared to others stocks, ever. Even more than during the first gulf war or the internet bubble.
Hedge funds and robinhood plebbitards are full in muh digital hopium, they are totally disconnected with reality. But reality require metals to build all their digital infrastructure, and commodities to produce all the chink shit they buy on amazon, or the food they buy via uberfood.

Bitcoin is going up like a rocket even taking into account the recent pullback, but because of how fast it has crashed in the past, it's foolish to go all-in or anything like it.

Most altcoins are absolute hot garbage though. With the possible exception of ETH and maaaybe Ripple.

>>24770663
You can always buy them in token, small amounts just in the off-chance they moon. But since buying cryptos is, let's face it, already a pretty speculative investment, best to keep the bulk of your money in time-tested investments, putting only a percentage into crypto and even then putting most into BTC and at most one or two major alts, UNLESS you actually have good reason to think a particular coin has a future. Which 90% of the time, people don't.

my real advice to you is to take your time researching anything you put your money into. If you don't have a clue how it works, you shouldn't touch it.

Do you really understand how the blockchain works?
If so, do you understand *why* people would want a technology like that? Do you know what problems it solves?
Are you well versed in the current state of the economy? Do you know what excessive money printing does?
Learn everything you can.

>How
Do actual research, not on /biz/, and decide which currency you are interested in. BTC and ETH are very safe bets because of how massive they are, but you probably won't see crazy gains either, and Monero is an example of a smaller more volatile coin. If you are interested in so-called tokens (like link, idle etc), you get Ethereum cause their value are tied to it and it's easier to trade. Then you open a wallet. In case of Monero they have an official one, so it's easy but for BTC, ETH there is no one official wallet, so you will have to do your research again and find a wallet that has the functions you want and is secure (open source is a must). Bitcoin.org and ethereum's homepage (can't remember the address) have tools that make it easier for you to chose a wallet. The you buy the token you want. It can be done by card or bank transfer(traceable and therefore cringe), or cash (based&redpilled). Cash can be sent to people who will trade the coin for it, but I never did this and there's a good chance you can get scammed. Crypto ATM's remove that risk. Just search crypto ATM near me and you will surely find some. Then register on an exchange like coinbase, connect a wallet and trade away!

>> No.24772612

>>24771858
You will deal with this when you actually have made your gains. You will be smarter and more experienced at that point. There's no point in worrying about this now, you're not even guaranteed to make a profit here, let alone become a millionaire
